Short, sweet, and to the point. If it seems like something you might be into and want more after that then here is an e3 gameplay demo. Just keep in mind since it is e3 things are going to be a little slow since they want to show off damn near everything.

As far as I'm aware, I think it's down to the developer to make their games accessible to Linux users, I know a lot of Valve's games are Linux ready and I think they're advising developers to add support for Linux but I don't see that working out very well.

It kind of does.
It's basically a reworked version of Linux, but at its core it is Linux.
The only real difference is that it comes with several programs pre-installed and it has a different theme to it.

There are alternatives though, there are some great bundles out there where you can buy a CPU, Motherboard and RAM together, all set up and ready to go pretty cheap.

Watch Dogs and The Division have been on my mind the most. Since the Division wasn't coming to 360 I decided I'd build a PC and holy shit once I actually learnt just how little it costs to make something more powerful than a console I almost wanted to slap myself for ever buying one.

But honestly, the game I'm most looking forward to this year is Mother 4.
User avatar #280 - nevrit (01/31/2014) [-]
Not bad looking, have you heard of Evolve yet? It is by the people who made Left for Dead.
User avatar #283 - WillWalrus (01/31/2014) [-]
Oh yeah, I saw the article in Game Informer. I love Left 4 Dead, so if this is anything like it, it should be great.
User avatar #223 - aesis (01/31/2014) [-]
It's going to be like that for quite a while, it always is. However, previous gens have had much better launch lineups, I think someone in the industry just decided:
"oh shit it's been almost 7 years fuck we need to make money again quick do something"
User avatar #224 - WillWalrus (01/31/2014) [-]
Yeah, there was definitely a deadline for this gen.
FUCK GUYS, THE MONEY'S RUNNING OUT WHAT DO WE DO
User avatar #226 - aesis (01/31/2014) [-]
Seriously though, some games do look incredible.
Watch Dogs and The Division have been on my mind the most. Since the Division wasn't coming to 360 I decided I'd build a PC and holy shit once I actually learnt just how little it costs to make something more powerful than a console I almost wanted to slap myself for ever buying one.
User avatar #228 - WillWalrus (01/31/2014) [-]
Yeah, but consoles are nice for people who don't want to deal with either building a computer, or buying an expensive one good enough to actually run games.
User avatar #232 - aesis (01/31/2014) [-]
There are alternatives though, there are some great bundles out there where you can buy a CPU, Motherboard and RAM together, all set up and ready to go pretty cheap.

I'd like to say the Steambox is a good alternative but...
It's basically going to be Alienware 2.0 where you're paying for a name rather than for quality
User avatar #236 - WillWalrus (01/31/2014) [-]
The Steambox controller looks interesting, but other than that, there doesn't really seem to be a point.
User avatar #238 - aesis (01/31/2014) [-]
As far as I'm aware I think you can use it with any PC.

Steambox seems like a good concept, but why Valve chose to run Linux is beyond me considering it limits the amount of games users can play.
User avatar #241 - WillWalrus (01/31/2014) [-]
Doesn't the Steambox have its own OS?
Maybe I'm mistaken
User avatar #244 - aesis (01/31/2014) [-]
It kind of does.
It's basically a reworked version of Linux, but at its core it is Linux.
The only real difference is that it comes with several programs pre-installed and it has a different theme to it.
User avatar #247 - WillWalrus (01/31/2014) [-]
Well why would they base it off of Linux when only certain Steam games work on Linux?
Does this mean they're fixing every game on Steam to work on Linux?
User avatar #251 - aesis (01/31/2014) [-]
As far as I'm aware, I think it's down to the developer to make their games accessible to Linux users, I know a lot of Valve's games are Linux ready and I think they're advising developers to add support for Linux but I don't see that working out very well.
User avatar #254 - WillWalrus (01/31/2014) [-]
Hm. Well that seems like a lot of trouble.
