I have 19 classes, which is equivalent to 25 hours in class. My 2 credit hour engineering class give me, by far, the most work. This is unfair, and I wouldn't ask someone to go through what we are, not even my worst enemy. And yeah, still working on it.

If you follow a good beginner program like SS you'll be surprised by how much you can milk during your first workouts. The first week you have to force yourself to go. If you didn't miss any of the workouts (which are only 3 a week, spaced apart so you can rest) by the second week you should be lifting 15 more pounds than what you begun with. Add in just two more weeks of training and you'll be lifting 45 more pounds than what you started with. That's a lot!

By the end of the second month, you should be squatting somewhere around 160 lbs, assuming you start on the LOW end! All you have to do is go. In the words of Woody Allen, "80% of success is showing up".

Keep track of your progress and be consistent, and you'll be amazed by just how much you can accomplish on your first month!

You pretty much have to force yourself to go for a while. It's hard to find motivation until you actually see results. So the best way to try and keep yourself going back is to:

1. Focus on your progress, set short term goals and reach them a day at a time

2. Find 1 or 2 movements that you enjoy doing and get really good at them. Finding ones that you enjoy will make your more excited to get back into the gym.

I wouldn't take it personally. If you ever became a regular on the board, the amount of people who say that they don't want to get "too big" gets annoying after a while. You won't get big by accident.
User avatar #24438 - WATCHAGUNADOBOUTIT (01/22/2015) [-]
True. I understand, I just didn't mean it with such an ignorant undertone... I just meant I know there are different workouts for different kinds of muscle building. Btw, what's a good way to stay motivated in going to the gym? During school I find it hard to make it a habit since I always have an excuse, but in reality I can MAKE time to go to the gym.

Step 1: SL 5x5 or SS, google it
Step 2: "Tone down with some muscle gain" Cut that shit out. Gain as much muscle as you can and lose as much fat as you can. You're not going to accidentally get huge. You won't get "super big" without reshaping your entire lifestyle.
User avatar #24515 - WATCHAGUNADOBOUTIT (01/22/2015) [-]
Also I was implying how much time effort I want to put in. I want to do it to stay healthy and gain some muscle, but I don't want to go crazy. This was just to help gauge the workout I want.
User avatar #24436 - WATCHAGUNADOBOUTIT (01/22/2015) [-]
But you can have different focuses, I was merely sharing my end goal. (like athletes have different workout plans than mr. universe). I'm not THAT naive, but thanks for info

Glad I'm not the only one who gets tired of people afraid of getting "ripped" or "too big", like they'll wake up one day with a 300 pound overhead press at 225 pounds.

Hey there, I saw your post. The show is obviously yugioh, but it's from a parody of the show called Yugioh abridged. If you'd like to watch the parody version, here:
