How do you know???????

It has a 79% on rotten tomatoes last I checked

How about you wait until the movie comes out to ACTUALLY JUDGE IT?
Seriously, everyone hating on it just because they chose a stupid feminist ploy doesn't mean the movie will suck because they are all women. It could be good! And those who didn't like the trailer, and judge the characters SOLELY on the trailer, need to remember. It's a trailer. Not a character development sequence, just a preview. Wait for the movie for anything to actually happen.

If you want to make the argument "How can you base a movie on its trailer?"

Then I would tell you that trailers today are usually made by ad companies, not the directors or studios. A group of ad companies each make a trailer and submit it to be chosen, but only one company is chosen, which means only one gets paid for their effort. So what the ad companies do is they try to make the best most exciting trailers they can possibly make, so they can get noticed. Which is why a lot of trailers you see today include heavy spoilers and all the best scenes. You have a few exceptions, but those are usually movies where a director or producer has an amount of control over advertising, and the studio respects them enough to give it to them. Ghostbusters 2016 is not that movie.

If the best of Ghostbusters 2016 is in the trailers, or if the best of Ghostbusters 2016 as judged by an ad company chosen by an indifferent studio is in the trailers, then I have no hope. I could be wrong, we might actually get a good movie and all the ads are just really terrible, but it's enough for me not to see it just yet.

A trailer is a good thing to judge a movie by, it is the actual thing meant to get you interested in the movie. People say not to judge a book by it's cover, but if you don't like the synopsis on the back, how could you possibly like the whole thing?

"Hmm, what's this book? 'Death At Dover Dam.' What's it about? 'Detective John Hiker...' Detective? I don't like detective novels. Nevermind."

But you only don't like it because it was a feminist ploy. Otherwise you wouldn't have a problem.
Which means you're fine with the genre, right?

Well no, I actually have no problem with an all female Ghostbusters. What I do have a problem with is a studio produced Ghostbusters movie. A movie meant to gather as much money as possible with a generic script and recognizable name. But to be fair, I think it being all female was quite simply a step taken by the director to amass a certain amount of control on the film, and to work with people he likes. And I can't blame him for that. Everything else about the movie, that I've seen, tells me it's a studio driven movie, set for the lowest common denominator, to be a cash grab. This was already enough for me not to see it, the trailer was the nail in the coffin.

Much like Goosebumps before it, when I see the Ghostbusters trailer, I see dumb joke after dumb joke with a coat of familiar imagery on it. A lot of cartoon characters running around the screen chasing humans acting obnoxiously. If it was Dave Chappelle on the ground spouting a line like, "I don't know if it was a race thing or a guy thing, but I'm mad as hell." I still wouldn't find that funny. Nor do I find any of the actual Ghostbusting I've seen in the trailers interesting or funny, certainly not the fucking nut shot with a proton back joke.

When I watch these trailers, I see two things. A) potentially the best moments of a movie that are still mediocre or bad in my opinion (ultimately the only opinion that matters to me and determines my enjoyment) or B) potentially the worst moments of the movie I'd still have to choose to sit through if I wanted to see it. I look at the trailers, I don't see anything I like, and so I choose not to see the movie. I choose to lose for free instead of paying to lose. Because I can tell you right now, even if all the right people told me to see it, I still wouldn't until it was on Netflix or HBO, because I have to really want to see a movie to go to a theater.

My detective novel example was poor in regards to plot setup and story. But knowing that in a detective novel, the detective has to solve a mystery, follow clues, and interact with certain character archetypes can be determined by its genre. And if I find those elements unappealing (and I'm not saying I do, it's just an example) then I'm not gonna read the book. So reading the back cover was enough for me to know I'm not going to enjoy the book, so I'm not going to read it. Seeing the Ghostbusters trailer introduced me to either the best or the worst of the characters, action, and jokes in the movie, and judging by how I felt about what I saw, I will not be seeing it, as of this moment.

Not because the characters have vaginas, but because I didn't find the trailers funny, interesting, or entertaining. They didn't get me excited, hyped, or even give me a hint of curiosity. They laid their cards on the table, and I didn't like what I saw. I know there's a chance I won't enjoy it, so I won't risk being right. If I turn out to be wrong, then I'm wrong, but I won't be finding out for a while either way.

The trailer was a chance for this movie to get me interested in it, and it failed.

Critic rating scores mean jack fucking shit since they rely on their public image to make a living. User rating scores are a far more reasonable standard to hold the movie to since the average joe having a controversial opinion isn't going to affect them anywhere near as heavily and therefor they'll tend to be more honest.

Don't believe me? Go look at all the games/movies/shows whatever that get a 7/10 score that then go on to get GOTY/Oscars/whatever and all the 7/10s that suck shit.
