Biased in scope, not necessarily action (In fact that would go against the basic definition.) However scope and action are entirely different and the distinction needs to be made.

People target the issues which affect them the most. Obviously. The choice in issue may be biased - but in the same way so is every decision you have ever made. There is no reason that you can't choose X issue, because it affects women more and you happen to be a women and so have a vested interest in solving it, and not strive to solve the issue with an egalitarian solution.

Do we attack gay-rights groups for not actively pushing the rights of straight people? No, because lack of action itself is not counter-action. All that complaining about the scope of a certain campaign does it work against ANY kind of progress. You are free to contribute to the same campaigns and add in the parallel/similar issues which affect men more than women.

really? Slaughtering civilians for fun? And you got all this where? off the internet?
That's funny, I just came from afghanistan a little over a year ago, and we have more rules in place about harming civilians then fucking cops. We were only allowed to classify someone as a combatant if they had a gun or an entire IED on them, so all the IED emplacers, spotters, and trigger men got listed as civilians. Oh, and the ANA (that's the Afghan National Army)repeatedly gets its ass handed to it whenever they get into a firefight with the Taliban fighters. Faiz, one of the civilians that we visited often on patrol, told us that if we stopped pushing out he gave the ANA less then a month before they were pushed completely out of the area. Also, if you knew a damn thing about the war, you'd know most of the Taliban fighters are being picked up and trained in Pakistan, not Saudi Arabia.
Oh, and my favorite one, the ANA soldiers with us requested never to work with British forces, since we are merely distrustful of them, the British abuse Afghanis whenever they get the chance. But hey, your a self-righteous European, you know fucking everything, right?
User avatar #195 - steedawwg (01/17/2014) [-]
Hold up, your point about the British, is that true?
User avatar #214 - toadkillerdog (01/17/2014) [-]
Well, I'm reluctant to trust the ANA's opinion (they are high on opium most of the time), but they always complained about being treated like animals by the British forces. One of the guys I was on most of an op with, named Shau Kut (sounded like Shao Kahn), kept saying that Americans usually cooperated with them, while the British that had been stationed at our FOB a few years prior always tried to use them as fodder to take all the fire and set off all the Taliban IEDS. I personally have no problem with the British soldiers, they were alright guys to me, but whenever I see a Brit on here screaming that Americans are cruel, it's a bit ironic.
User avatar #226 - steedawwg (01/18/2014) [-]
I hope it's not true, being British myself, it's quite disheartening.

But the US did dethrone the Taliban. In fact it happened in the first year.
#28 - UnoSkullmanx (01/17/2014) [-]
Funny how you read the first line of the post and ignored the rest of it.

Random civilians were slaughtered by US troops, sometimes deliberately. Afghan troops have no idea what the Americans are doing there, but they do know they have a habit of killing civilians, so what are the chances of them being willing to help the american troops? Meanwhile, the Taliban gets stronger every day and gets fresh new recruits.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, the place where the terrorists first spawned, was completely untouched and has taken no blame for the actions of its people. But, sure, let's keep sending soldiers to Afghanistan. I'm sure the Taliban gives a shit about that country.

Believing in God and believing the the Easter Bunny are the same thing, brah. They were both invented and have an equal amount of evidence supporting their existence. Believing in a deity is irrational, a concept that humans developed over time as a method of describing and understanding their surroundings. Except now, we have a much better understanding of our universe, and can describe things using facts and evidence.

Religion is an obsolete concept and needs to be retired. It's holding us back as a species and causes much more hard than good.
