 And even worse, you need the M4A3E2 before you can even do anything worthwhile in the Sherman, because you're stuck with a piss-poor 75mm infantry-support cannon that does jack-shit to anything thicker-skinned than a T-26. Or another M4 Sherman. And if you get hit, and you will get hit because the Sherman is only dwarfed by the refrigerator that is the KV-2, you will almost always instantly explode if hit anywhere but right around the gun, because the Sherman is made entirely of ammo. I remember the better days before the battle rating shenanigans when I could just drive around my captured M4 and have a good time not auto-detonating against Tigers and IS tanks. That I will never know because I gave up on WT. I got burnt out on it really quick because I was not only having to drive a vehicle that I don't want to play anymore (The M3 Lee) Not that its bad in WT, but since the M4 sherman is right there I wanted to play that more but I had to drive like what? 3 other vehicles in tier one so I can be able to unlock tier 2? 3 tanks with completely different play styles to what I want to play as. I know that due to WT's garage mechanics, this is necessary, but I don't want to fuck around in a gun truck, I want to get the M4. Yeah...War Thunder just...really isn't that good of a tank game. It's realistic to the point of poor gameplay when it comes to tanks. You want your tanks to feel like war machines, not origami. I know tanks aren't actually that strong, but the way it's handled in a game like ARMA 2 or Red Orchestra is just better off, even if you are playing from third person. WT realism is great for aircraft, and that's really where it shines, but elsewhere it just feels...lacking. Arbitrarily difficult to people who aren't trying to powergame it like some sort of e-sports player. Idk, I really like the concept of Sim battles. Where the enemy could be anywhere hiding and you have to be the better hider, but thats also ruined by the fact that anyone can turn off bushes negating cover. I guess I'll stick to grinding free xp in my Fury back at WoT. | ||
