Shieeet, I had a shiny Megakabuterimon card, it was one of my favorites.
I never did like that they all turned back into their first form after evolving, but man those transformations were crazy, they always turned into super cyborg robot dinosaur things, cant say no to that.

I just double-checked and it looks like the director for Summer Wars did the opening for Samurai Champloo, I didn't see anything about Cowboy Bebop though. Could be similar art styles?

I agree there were a couple points where it seemed like the dialogue between characters seemed to drag on, but overall the story was decent and the animation was flipping' great.
