I dunno. i've checked the prices of the fat duck (the second best restaurant in the world)

A menu there will cost u 125 pound. But the post does say he invites the family, more people, and a few bottles of wine can cost u a small fortune

But the Fat Duck closed down didn't it?
User avatar #116 - lotengo (10/23/2013) [-]
Not that i know of.

I do know El Bulli is closed a lot so the chef has time to develop new dishes.
And Noma in Denmark is/was closed due to food poisoning
User avatar #136 - ehzio (10/23/2013) [-]
yeah The Fat Duck was closed down due to norovirus for 6 weeks after costumers had eaten some contaminated oysters.

But oh well, I'd still go there, fucking Heston Blumenthal is neat in the kitchen

Implying prostitution is not a job for cooks......

kidding dude, I know how hard it is to find a job when you're a cook. Litterally nothing is available but the job is so fun...ish best luck to you sir,
User avatar #145 - lotengo (10/23/2013) [-]
i tried to work with prostitution but most chicks dont want to pay for a cock big enough to break their spine.

It will get better in a few weeks when the restaurants have to kick out all the student cooks that are not good enough to work for them. That will give me some room to swoop in
User avatar #146 - ehzio (10/23/2013) [-]
Maybe it's because you're not using one liners for cooks like.

Yeah, it tried to emulate to many different things throughout the series, almost like it didn't know what it wanted to be. I don't see why it's so highly rated and appraised and stuff like aku no hana is thrown under the rug :/
User avatar #32 - infinitereaper (10/22/2013) [-]
Aku no Hana was a crime against the adapting industry
User avatar #33 - cozer (10/22/2013) [-]
I take it you mean that the manga is infinitely better than the anime and that the manga is the "true" version of this story then? I myself haven't read the manga, but the anime was a masterpiece. The only thing I've heard is that the character models are better in the anime, they described them as being ugly in the manga, but they looked fine is all I've really heard about it. What's wrong with the anime adaptation?
User avatar #34 - infinitereaper (10/22/2013) [-]
It turned into rotocrap.

The manga had great art.
It's an anime, yet they are going to shoot live action and then rotoscope?
User avatar #35 - cozer (10/22/2013) [-]
They wanted to give it a unique art style is all. Too many anime have nearly the same art style and just don't even bother to differentiate themselves from everyone else. It's kind of sad that when a company tries something new they get severely punished for it and because of that we are likely to not get a second season that this anime definitely deserves. what's wrong with trying something new to spice things up every once in a while? Attack on titan has a unique art style to it and so does aku no hana so why does attack on titan get praise and aku no hana get rated lower than 25-30% of hentai? I would even argue that aku no hana is better overall mainly because it knows what it is, it doesn't drag things out just so it can have a second season, it knows how to pace it self. It's pathetic that such a masterpiece is so underrated, this is kind of why I hate calling myself an otaku, people think shit like K-ON and haruhi are a godsend and true works of art go amiss in this industry.
User avatar #37 - infinitereaper (10/22/2013) [-]
If it had just stayed true to the art style of the manga I guarantee you it would have gotten better reception.
User avatar #39 - cozer (10/22/2013) [-]
Maybe, but the people behind the anime wanted these characters to be realistic, not many people actually look like most anime characters, as in they have no pimples, look nice, aren't overweight or weird looking etc.... They're about as realistic as it gets. Maybe it's good that it didn't get good reception, I just hope they can still make a second season. It would be a shame for something with a story as good as this to be untold/unfinished. It's a nice change of pace to see something different for once and not be some stupid moe slice of life bullshit that comes out every season.
User avatar #47 - infinitereaper (10/23/2013) [-]
I believe the nice looking art style/characters in Aku no Hana were the perfect combination to it's dark story. With the rotocrap it was just straight up bleak. Ugly. Empty.

I refused to watch it for this reason. Rotoscoping isn't realistic either mind you.

Anyways, I don't care about all that.

What I care about

is that adaptions are true to the source material.

User avatar #48 - cozer (10/23/2013) [-]
Most of the time the source material is better, but from what people have told me and from what I have seen it seems like most people like the character models more in the anime rather than in the manga, simply because they're attractive in the manga and less attractive in the anime when they were described as being ugly in the manga. BTW, been wondering this for a while now, what exactly is rotscoping? I've heard this term a few times before, but have never learnt what it means.
User avatar #49 - infinitereaper (10/23/2013) [-]
When you take some live action and paint over the frames.

Which bothers me. I mean, thats not anime. Aku no Hana should have just been a full blown live action drama.
User avatar #50 - cozer (10/23/2013) [-]
I didn't mind the art style and animation though, thought it was kind of befitting of the anime to be honest. I guess that's just a personal preference though.
User avatar #24 - swodah (10/22/2013) [-]
Mostly because aku no hana's art was different, in my opinion ugly, though i liked the premise when i read it, i still couldn't watch it because of the drawing style.

While Guilty crowns premise was also good, and the art was nice, but the plot and charachters ended up mediocre.
User avatar #29 - cozer (10/22/2013) [-]
It was suppose to be ugly, people in anime are always drawn beautifully, in aku no hana however they weren't suppose to look nice, they were suppose to be appalling in a sense. This is why it gets flak from people, alot of people don't understand what it was going for. It was going for a more realistic art style, this was a story about a bookworm/geek and that's exactly what he looks like.
User avatar #36 - swodah (10/22/2013) [-]
Well, intentionally ugly is still ugly, therefore it is of no surprise that most people would not watch it. I know it was to much for me, so i stopped 6 minutes in the first episode.
User avatar #38 - cozer (10/22/2013) [-]
Not ugly as in the art style is bad, but ugly as in the characters them self are ugly. They have pimples, aren't skinny, they're just realistic. I respect your right to have an opinion, but it is wrong. Maybe if you had actually finished it and then had the same opinion I would consider it more, but people can't talk and argue about something that they don't really know about. Maybe try to actually watch it one day?
User avatar #40 - swodah (10/22/2013) [-]
I did hear it got better with each episode, but i just didn't like the artstyle. Granted it were the characters that made me decide to quit it that early, not the rest, but on the other hand it wasn't helping much either.

From what i read it did sound interesting and if i one day get over the art and character designs i will watch it.
User avatar #41 - cozer (10/22/2013) [-]
It did get better as time went on, I guess it was only natural that people would get turned off by it, but to me that seems like weakness on their part. As if they don't want to experience that could be real, anime is a form of escapism for alot of people and watching something so realistic might make people go into depression or feel as if this sanctuary of there's has been tainted in some way, still even with all of that I don't think that it deserves to be ranked as low as it is. It's ranked lower than alot of hentai for fucks sake, that is just pathetic on the animes community. Sorry if this feels like a rant, I tend to just rant when i'm angry/passionate about something is all.
User avatar #42 - swodah (10/22/2013) [-]
Passion is good as long as you don't burn someone on a cross for it
User avatar #43 - cozer (10/22/2013) [-]
True, I might come off as being hateful, but I just try to open peoples eyes and coerce them into trying something that could be potentially life changing for them. Some people are kind of thickheaded and don't want to try anything new. I try new stuff all the time, even if I don't like it after I do it at least then I can say that I tried it and tell them why I didn't like it, that's the way I see it at least.
User avatar #44 - swodah (10/22/2013) [-]
