Not even. It's more like socialism = higher taxes, liberalism, people upset about a portion of their money going to others they don't know. People don't want to share.

Personally, I like capitalism in that sense.. that it's rewarded those who have shown ambition and made people strive to do their very best. It's a big part of how America became a superpower. But we do have socialist bits here and there, like the police or fire department for example. People just don't want it full on 100% socialism.
