Anon is such a force because people wish to express opinions without fear of people responding personally. For example, if I mistype this or you disagree, I will be thumbed down, my stats will go down, and I will feel personal responses. If I wrote this as an anon, whatever happens happens and no one really gives a shit. I might come back and check the thumbs, but if they are negative I would think you people are dumb and nothing more. Anonymous offers freedom from repercussions, and membership can never match that.
