freedomfromlife (10/17/2010) [-] Doom 3 wasn't very scary, maybe a couple of jump scenes, but that's about it, if you want to be scared try playing F.E.A.R. 1&2 or Penumbra. Penumbra is seriously scary, your character is trapped in this old mine, and there are possessed dogs, zombies, these weird creatures that have no bottom, just a torso and a miner's hat on. Those fuckers are scary cause all you can hear is this sliding noise when they move and you see a small trail of blood where they've been. I think the scariest thing about Penumbra is that you have no weapons, you can set small traps for the enemies with electricity and a good physics engine, but that's about it. you AT LEAST get to use a miner's pick to beat the monster with.  #139

Doom had its jump scares and some tense moments but its not pants shitting terror that is Penumbra or Amnesia. Shit I still haven't encountered my first enemy in Amnesia because I just can't brave to play it right now. #146

freedomfromlife (10/17/2010) [-] Penumbra is scarier I think, no real weapons, just a pick and maybe a flash light dude, imagine walking through the dark to have this possessed dog charge at you in a pitch black room and then get anally raped, or these really weird fucking creatures that are wearing miners hats, they have no legs so they just wander around leaving a small trail of blood behind them and if they see you you're gonna get raped. Sort of reminds me of those things off of The suffering actually. Either way I think Penumbra is scarier. And FEAR, FEAR was only scary a little bit, like in the first level there is this bathroom, and when you enter the lights go out and the stall at the end SLOWLY opens, like it's inviting you, never had the balls to go to it -.- #119

freedomfromlife (10/17/2010) [-] Except in Doom3 you can survive it, in Penumbra if one of the monsters get you you're dead, Don't get me wrong, you do get a health bar in Penumbra, but most of the monsters kill you almost instantly, some of them if they grab you you're dead, no fighting back, whereas in doom 3 you at least have guns and armor and a large health bar. The biggest factor in Penumbra is knowing that you have to sneak by the monsters or set traps for them or else you're fucking dead. #150

But he used mindreader and detected my plans. He stood me up and did a hi jump kick to my lower jaw. I was paralyzed for a few turns. As I convulsed on the floor, he meditated. He then threw my onto the bed with a seismic toss and used pound over and over. Somewhere during the pounding, I fainted. When I woke up I learned hypnosis works. And I was weak. Cause drain punch works too. I'm trapped.
