Young earth creationism is dumb but there are still flaws in the theory of evolution that need explaining in order for it universally accepted.
#97213 - anonymous (12/19/2014) [-]
Then why is it universally accepted?
#97255 - anonymous (12/19/2014) [-]
its not.....if it was we wouldn't be having this discussion.
User avatar #97195 - ribocoon (12/19/2014) [-]
like what?
#97199 - anonymous (12/19/2014) [-]
irreducible complexity, fossil record, molecular biology, and that we have traits that don't show any clear survival advantage. Those are just a few. I do however believe in adaptation but not that species can change into a completely different species.
User avatar #97200 - ribocoon (12/19/2014) [-]
your uninformed opinion
what about it?
what about it?
That actually supports evolution. Evolution is the long term nonrandom survival of randomly varying replicators. I would think that a god would create human beings without these occasionally arbitrary traits that don't contribute to survival.
#97202 - anonymous (12/19/2014) [-]
inform me,
missing parts,
molecular biology doesn't support the idea that single celled organisms can become multi-celled organisms.
it only works if you believe in a god.
User avatar #97203 - ribocoon (12/19/2014) [-]
I believe that your problem with this complexity is that you can't conceptualize how much time it took to form.
We're always finding new fossils and what evidence we have points to a common ancestor. It is my personal belief that it takes less of a leap of faith to believe in what evidence we have than a spooky evil magic red man planted rocks in the earth to trick us into thinking the world is older than it really is, and an all benevolent god let him.
How?
No it doesn't. Truth doesn't depend on preference of personal belief.
#97254 - anonymous (12/19/2014) [-]
but things like the knee and ear couldn't form slowly without being a detriment.
true but how bout we stick with lets wait until there is more evidence. and who legitimately believes that?
there's nothing else to say, I could be wrong but I have yet to hear of studies showing what I said was false.
yes it does in your statement. And yes truth doesn't depend on preference of personal belief but individual interpretation does. Otherwise you are making the same superiority claim that non-believers state believers commit.

Right, and if you were to loop that effect you could accelerate the cannon ball to relativistic speeds without a massive energy input. a satchel of powder could launch the cannon ball fast enough that the blast radius would level cities.

Then the gun is creating energy and isn't a ship cannon; with an autoloader it's a WMD.
User avatar #88 - Sorrowscythe (12/12/2014) [-]
The cannon ball, now shank into a musket ball, is fired with the force it would be required to fire said musket ball. The ring at the end of the barrel is used to cancel the magical effect, thus bringing the cannon ball back to original size, while traveling at the same velocity it was fired at.. Assuming the rifle is a standard commoner's flintlock.

have you even read my comment?

"I do agree that these men and women are awesome, to actually want to join and defend and help their country." who are they defending? You from the guy who has 2 goats and lives on a mountain? who exactly is being helped? the innocent people that got murderd? or their children now living in the shadow of isis?

These people went to those locations because they were bored, wanted to expirience something new, or tought life is call of duty. they went there willingly god knows what shit they did there and when they get post traumatic stress i'm supposed to feel sorry? Visit an iraqy mass grave look those mourning mothers in the eye and tell me our soldiers are heroes

User avatar #214 - Sorrowscythe (12/10/2014) [-]
I prefer to think of the person as a human, instead of a soldier or a hero. American culture seems to immortalize or look up to the men and women of our armed forces because of the shit we're fed in the media about it.

I do agree that these men and women are awesome, to actually want to join and defend and help their country. But being afflicted with PTSD is a terrible thing for someone to have.

How you dehumanized the person for being afflicted with PTSD is something I absolutely do not agree with, but it's your opinion and that is your right to have.

just an additional data... Azathoth, Nyarlathotep, Shub-Niggurath, Yog-Sothot and most of the outer gods in lovecraft's stories are based fron the book of the crazed arabian Abdyl Alhazred, aka the Necronomicon.

that or read In the Mountains of Madness.
