if you put limits on how many people can study it, it just creates a smaller pool of people to teach
which means less teaching jobs
so that doesn't solve the problem

in a perfect world, we'd just get rid of useless fields of study and stop wasting people's time and money

the only thing you can do with a Women's Studies degree and other related, useless degrees is teach that subject
but there's too many people going into those fields, so there's no teaching jobs left

Then a healthy society would put limits on the people who can start studying in that field. Also, the concept of women studies is so abstract to anyone outside the US. My underlaying point is, the US is not a healthy society.
