That's the thing, though! The main friend I'm thinking about right now is straight, Christian, similar financial stability, and we're really close. But the weed gets in the way of our friendship a lot, and it pisses me off. We both like each other (as friends) a ton, but the weed comes between us sometimes :(

I gotcha... and I guess that can just be the case sometimes. I mean... I dont want to judge you or criticize you in any way. But sometimes you just have to accept something like that and look past it.

Fair enough. However, there are people (drug dealers, growers, policemen, etc.) killed all too much for no good reason. I say that if it's legalized, weed-related crime will go down, as well as deaths. My main point was about the social interactions between those whom do and those whom don't smoke weed. Since I don't know everything about the drug wars, I should've left that out. I'm just a guy who's experienced first hand the effects weed has on relationships.

I understand what youre trying to say. Ive experienced it too. I used to bash pot smokers and say how bad it was for you. My friends would do it in front of me and get high when I hung out with them. We didnt grow apart in any way tho. Were still friends to this day. And if your social interactions change, the truth is that they can change for any reason. People can not like you for your religion, your sexual preferences, the amount of money you have, literally everything.

you're kidding, right? i read in time an article about marijuana, there was a picture in it of a line of mexican soldiers guarding 200 TONS of confiscated marijuana from gangs in juarez. another picture was of 2 gang thugs holding shotguns, the caption saying inside the cabin behind them was the gang's stock of pot.
