Theres a few words that come from gaelic. The immigration itself doesnt bother me, its when the people that migrate get benefits and continue to speak their language making the country evolve round them other than adapting to the new culture that they CHOSE to move to. The burka for example, if im asked to lower my hood when entering a bank or airport they should be asked to remove their burka religion or not. If religion/ culture is the case then i should be allowed it if i tell them im from the slums its natural for me to have my hood up and head down (note: im not from the slums um just using that as an example xD) If we move to another country they will force us to adapt to their laws. Such as the couple that got jailed in dubai for kissing in public when on holiday, and if I moved to another country i would learn their language and speak it in public not just when im speaking to someone who doesnt speak english, speaking your original language in private is fine but when its in public it makes people curious, (they could think your talking about them, or planning some sort of terrorist attack).

I spent 4 years in school learning that shitty language. Why learn latin, is that not extinct xD ? If no-one decides to learn gaelic, once that goes extinct, will people want to learn it then? Seems pointless. Yes im from irish decent but considering Scotland and Ireland have always been sharing people since they existed its quite different from random asians coming over because Westminster has sent in troops to destroy their land.

Well, Latin's the basis of all major languages in the Western world, and therefore makes learning other languages much easier, in addition to the fact that there are thousands of phrases used in English that come from Latin. Whereas Gaelic is the basis of no other languages and rarely occurs in any other language. Also, there's been migration between Scotland and England for thousands of years, to the point that virtually all Scots have some element of English ancestry and the lowlands of Scotland have really always been an offshoot of English culture. There's also the fact that the same sentiment that's being used against Asians just now was used against the Irish during periods of high migration (Such as the potato famine)...

Gaelic is just something that i thing scottish people should speak, we did speak it... I know its pointless not learning english but I think learning Gaelic instead of french would be more relevant in scottish schools. Ive never been to france, never plan to, the only other place im aware of that speaks is is Quebec but ive never been nor plan to xD The fact that other countries have their own language just makes it more reasonable to speak gaelic in scotland, its part of the culture. By doing so it may also reduce the amount of immigrants that move here and continue to speak their language constantly since gaelic is supposed to be one of the hardest languages to learn. Every countries fucked up their economy atm xD America's is fucked, Labour in westminster fucked up the whole of the UK's and greece is fucked. (Those are the main ones theres plenty more). I think they should make it that the UK is a continent the name of a group of countries other than making it difficult being countries within a country.

Also, Iceland is major fucked - its economy is decimated - and Scotland would be in the exact same situation if Westminster hadn't bailed the Royal Bank of Scotland out (for £37 billion - more than the entire annual Scottish budget) we'd be absolutely fucked... Also, about 110 million people speak French as a first language to about 60,000 Scottish Gaelic speakers, and personally I'd rather learn French or Latin than Gaelic...
