| Yeah, so that they break easily so that the dumbass consumer has to fucking buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one, only for it to break and then you gotta buy another one. And that would just keep going on forever untill you either ran out of money or grew a couple of brain cells and went to PCs and Smartphones, or literally anything that isn't Apple. forums.cnet.com/7726-7810_102-2774038.html #109

voideka (01/13/2013) [-] So you reply using a bias, corrupt and retarded post like that, so original. They don't break. If they do, then you treated it like shit. It deserves to be broken. I've had iPhones since 2010 and I've broke it once. It broke in a fashion that no phone could survive. Apple or not. #138

rawesome (01/13/2013) [-] Got my first siemens phone in 2000, didn't break... upgraded to a nokia around 2008 because I wanted collor and a crappy camera to take crappy pictures. Still have it, hasn't broken. Paid 25$ for a phone that's been working for over 4 years, even though I've been a total fucking retard and dropped it a thousand times and left it outside in the rain. Honestly, sturdyness is NOT Iphones strong suit Pic related You're just anti-apple for the sake of being anti-apple. Their build quality is the best on the market, the price you pay is for excellent design and some of the best aesthetics and ergonomics available. The price is markedly higher, yes, but their mobile devices are without equal in their physical form. Android is a much better OS if you're looking for open source mobile software and windows is a superior computer OS. But apple's hardware is some of the best stuff I've ever bought. I will never purchase a mac and use an android phone, the only apple devices I own are an iPad and old iPod touch, so I'm not exactly biased All products are made in the same place, factories like foxconn, so their "build quality" is pretty much equal. Yes Apple chooses to use premium materials in their products and design them mostly for aesthetic appeal, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's better. For instance Apple uses aluminum in their iPhone 5 whereas most competitors use plastic, the iPhone 5 has been having major scratching/chipping issues because the aluminum isn't as durable; even to the point where it's been scratched right out of the box. Now the aluminum does look better but it also makes for a worse "build quality". I'm not sure if you know what "ergonomics" means because it really does not make any sense in your statement. And to say that they are without equal is completely and utterly bullshit, I would believe that a strong, durable, waterproof phone that is also thin would trump something with a pretty aluminum body. Apple does have very good design aesthetic but you can't extend that and just give them freebies as if their build quality is really better than others. Also an open source OS is referring to the intentions of the parent company (in this case Google) and has absolutely nothing to do with performance, so you really have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Instead of going all ad hominem, try and keep your blatherings relevant to the conversation. And also I studied product design, I know what I'm talking about with ergonomic and anthropometrics, much more than you, I'm willing to bet. Implying that apple products are cheaply made is to say that their device won't last more than 10 years, if you don't abuse it like half the 12 year old's on here, which I know for a fact is true. My friend's original iPod still functions perfectly and he's used it constantly for the duration of it's lifetime. But I have had other products that last a very long so I'm confused as to why that's relevant, Apple isn't the only company to make good products. Ergonomics when it comes to product design but in the context you give it's an awkward statement that doesn't really belong. Would you say an iPhone is "easier" to use then other phones? Its sharp edges are much worse to use then a smooth curved piece, but they decide to sacrifice that for aesthetics. An iPad is heavier than many tablets because the aluminum is heavier than plastic, but Apple decides to sacrifice that for aesthetic appeal. The new iMacs lost their optical drive, moved the ports to a very awkward place, made it much more difficult to upgrade, all which is a significant loss of "ergonomics" so they could make it thinner which is more aesthetically pleasing; and since it's a desktop the thinness adds zero ergonomics for being thin. I'm sure you can see the trend... Apple will ALWAYS go form over function, that's just how they run their company. Now it's successful so there's nothing wrong with that, but it means that people who don't know their shit despite claiming they do, like you, can't say they have better "ergonomics" then other companies. I'm not debating that apple is the only company that makes quality products. Think before you post. Hmm maybe you should think about the fact that you told me that you knew oh so much about product design, and that I knew shit-all, and that the VAST majority of my comment is referring to that not the tiny first statement. So why wouldn't you think before you posted? And in my comment before I never said that Apple made cheap products, but you said that in your previous comment. Why didn't you think about that before posting? Just give up, you fucked up bad. You're forgetting one thing that completely makes your arguments both invalid and retarded. All apple products are designed to break down so that you have to keep buying them over and over again. forums.cnet.com/7726-7810_102-2774038.html Implying that other than survival gear, that argument applies to every piece of electronics ever #87

Visual (01/13/2013) [-] Are you fucking stupid? Everyone has legitimate criticisms of brands if they don't suit their taste. Their build quality is for show, to lure sheep who like the look of it and not what the hardware actually showcases. The Apple website doesn't even list hardware specs in big, bold letters and rather instead hide it in a small link when you want to compare shit laptops. The mobile devices are shit too after owning one for some time, they get bogged down with memory and you have to dig into the OS to clean it up. Apple hardware isn't even different, they pack in smaller, weaker components that PC use, and you can seriously buy 3X better parts for almost half the price when building a PC. (Building a PC isn't even fucking hard, it's a matter of fitting the pieces together and turning it on) You're only paying for the look of the phone/computer and weaker, outdated hardware inside. Seriously, if you don't believe me, go to their website, click on any Mac computer or laptop, and try to find the system specs at first glance. #113

voideka (01/13/2013) [-] The software on a computer is so much more important than the hardware. Linux on a pretty crap PC works blazingly fast in a situation whereas windows would still be booting. You've got to consider other things, such as usability. Think about the trackpad on a macbook, holy shit, once you've had it a week you can't let go. Makes laptop trackpads a piece of shit, and the same goes for the Magic Mouse too. Features on not just OSX - but Windows and Linux too - when you learn to use them, and informed of why they work that way, it makes so much sense. I love aero, I wish that was on OSX, and I wish that the gestures were on Windows too. #120

voideka (01/13/2013) [-] You're talking to a guy that builds computers every week, and does programming every day. Of course I know what I'm talking about. I hope you're not implying 'but if you didn't have good hardware you wouldn't have a PC' Because if you didn't have software, you wouldn't have a PC either. The better the software the better the experience using the device will be. The better the hardware you're still going to have the same experience using the computer, limited by the capabilities of the software. Also, just because you have a fancy collab of pictures doesn't make you right. So... As long as I have an AMAZING driver, on a shitty ass graphics card, I'm good to go? And as long as I have windows 8 on my 10 year old computer, it'll run faster than ever? #77

N. Korean citizen (01/13/2013) [-] says " I'm not exactly biased" statement is now controversial because you said you were not biased btw, Apple supplies the shittiest hardware I have ever seen at least on a Macbook Pro And they overprice for every single fucking item, so rich white guys with big egos can boast that they have the newest apple product, claiming it to be revolutionary. TL;DR You have no idea what you are talking about. Yet you cower behind the mask of anonymity. What I'm saying is hardly controversial but I do agree on the pricing, the pricing of their units vs the increase in memory is horribly disproportionate. #95

N. Korean citizen (01/13/2013) [-] have you ever seen someone drop their iPhone? theres like a 99% chance that something on the is going to crack or get scratched As is the case with blackberries and samsung headsets. Nice straw man there Yes, because 'damaging the asthetics' is all the damage you're gonna do if you drop your fucking iPhone. :/ | ||
