That gun is then loaded into a truck with 75 other guns that came across recently, as well as whatever drugs said guns were protecting, and then sold in back lots and alleys. You seem to be under the assumption that stuff hits the border and is caught at gateways. Those gateways account for one ten thousandth of one percent of the length of the border. Cross two miles away from a station and nobody's the wiser. Hell, you hear about vans that did make it across the border, loaded with drugs or people or weapons. It's in the news a couple times a month in AZ.

Background checks are not required with person to person sales, only with an FFL.
That means you would not need a BC if you sold a gun on facebook to a stranger or vise versa
