SenorAwesome (06/11/2011) [-] Saying that most of the founding fathers were either deist or atheist. And the first inference of "separation of Church and state" was in a letter from Thomas Jefferson to a Church. Because he was a deist some Christians were concerned he would persecute them. He said that religion would be protected from the government. The First Amendment prohibits America from having an official religion, nothing more or less.

Drageads (05/27/2011) [-] I believe that the universe was created via the big bang (i know its not the perfect theory but it makes more sense to me than a god. If i see another theory that makes more sense, i will probably switch to that one). I believe the earth formed roughly 5 billion years ago. I believe that life was created randomly in the basic pool of amino acids formed on earth. I believe evolution brought us where we are today. I believe there is no life after death and that we should live life to the fullest during our time on earth (he says while on funnyjunk) I believe in basic morals dictated by common sense (no killing, stealing, cheating etc.) and I believe that human beings can become more intelligent and be the greatest species on earth. #567

Drageads (05/25/2011) [-] Well, I am going to risk that fire. I cannot waste a portion of my life pretending to believe something that deep within myself i find phony. I don't care if you're a christian or not and what us atheist ask is that you treat us the same way. Also, i think many of TJ's videos are meant to attack christians rather than Christianity.

Drageads (05/25/2011) [-] . . . The bible does say the earth is flat. Listen, let's stop trying to convert eachother. I'm an atheist and that's how its going to be. No one is going to convert me and I will stay atheist until i see, with my own eyes, undeniable proof of a god. You will most likely stay christian until the day you die. I respect that. But if you're really curious, just watch all of his videos. I'll check out your website. #331

SenorAwesome (05/25/2011) [-] That's the thing. The Bible never says that. The Catholic Church may have taught that, but it isn't Biblical. That is something the AmazingAtheist needs to work on, separating attacks on Christians from Christianity itself. I think you heard many misconceptions similar to this, and eventually began to buy into them. I was posed a question by my Bible study leader last year. "If you saw someone who, unbeknownst to them, was about to walk into a burning building, how much would you have to hate them to not stop them?" That's the attitude Christians should have about conversions. And I will watch some more of these videos. #333

SenorAwesome (05/25/2011) [-] I watched it. I didn't see what was so convincing. I think it is safe to say neither he or us really understands the workings of the universe. His counter theory seems to be based off of 'maybe' and 'we don't know'. Well we don't know. The cosmological argument is not proof for the Christian God. It's used to show some force or entity was required for the universe to exist. And that's basically was the AmazingAtheist says. He says the energy could have always existed, or it spontaneously started to exist, etc. Those sound an awful lot like a God to me. Besides the fact that much of his video is taking what Christians say and twisting it around. #566

mememeister (05/25/2011) [-] I just watched that and I gotta say it's a mix of anti-christian propaganda and using big words to make himself sound smart, with an understanding of Catholism that matches that of a child. If that was what converted you to atheism I gotta say you're a sheep with a blind guide. Peace, I'm out motherfuckers.
