If I haven't seen it, It's new to me. Whatever. Stick it in the toaster and retoast. Sure it gets worse and worse overtime, but still under all that hatred, there is still the thing we know and love.

I'm pretty damn sure the catholic church and the church of England have accepted evolution now and they're probably the largest christian groups.

I'm christian and I believe in evolution

You would have to be retarded to just disregard all of the scientific evidence.

Christian(n): Someone who believes in Jesus Christ (see dictionary.reference.com)
They have evidence that Jesus Christ exists. Even atheists, like myself, believe Jesus Christ once roamed this very Earth. Although, many of us do not believe he had and type of powers or supernatural abilities.

The Vatican approves teaching of the theory of evolution in Catholic schools...
#52 - theinvisibletheift (07/28/2013) [-]
The Vatican just straight up teaches it, actually. Woot intelligent design.
#75 - anonymous (07/28/2013) [-]
Yup.
Catholics(Usually the Better Christians)- Believe in evolution because of the obvious evidence, just a higher force set things in motion.
Born again Christians(Everything that's not Catholic; i.e. Baptists and such)- The Earth is 6,000 years old and everyone else is wrong.

ASIANS CAN ACTUALLY READ MINDS!!!!!!!!!!!
They can hear, and see what you're visually thinking. This is the absolute complete truth!!!!!

Asians hide their mind reading abilities by a lot of them having completely expressionless faces so they don't accidentally show facial expressions when people think things they don't like, find funny, astonishing, etc, and Asians segregate so their not nearly as susceptible to that happening.
Asians also segregate, and are untalkative to avoid accidentally saying things that are similar to what people are thinking and going to say.

Try thinking, and visually picturing things that are as wild as you can when you are around Asians, and look for Asians who give people dirty/particular looks for what appears to be for completely no reason.

PLEASE SPREAD THE MESSAGE!!!!! THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW THIS!!!!!

Aren't christians creationists based on the adam / eve story?
User avatar #142 - commontroll (07/28/2013) [-]
Most every Christian I know believes in evolution to a certain degree. Not all believe it made everything, but hardly any don't believe in it at all. If they don't, I bring up dog breeds being the product of microevolution.
User avatar #103 - pabloch (07/28/2013) [-]
Not necessarily, as a catholic I believe and evolution, besides, the bible is not to be taken literally.
User avatar #105 - pabloch (07/28/2013) [-]
And when I say I believe in evolution, I'm saying I believe God made evolution happen
User avatar #111 - luakazuki (07/28/2013) [-]
Am Christian who believes this too. God the why, evolution the how.

Its not a matter of faith

Uhm, isn't the Christian religion basically a creationist religion at heart? That doesn't make any sense. No passage in any bible I've read states "And on the 5th day, god created bacteria, and it evolved."
User avatar #39 - cudlefish (07/28/2013) [-]
But there are still Christians who believe that evolution is the work of god
#40 - dovanerrevarine (07/28/2013) [-]
Again, isn't that biblically inaccurate since according to the bible the earth isn't more than a few thousand years old?
User avatar #41 - cudlefish (07/28/2013) [-]
Everyone is always changing their perception of the bible, believe what they want about it,which I think is stupid, you can't change a religion to fit what you believe, you have to believe fully in that religion. And yes, it is inaccurate.
#43 - anonymous (07/28/2013) [-]
That's how religion was created. Every new entry in the biblical tales, as they depict the world's history and creation, was conveniently placed so the folks back then could explain things. Religion should simply change with knew scientific knowledge that PROVES the guesswork of man; i.e. for now explain that evolution, the big bang, etc. was the work of a deity or w/e.

It's like the jihad for Islam; it was a convenient form of "Uncle Sam" way back when the muslim/arabic states were divided and threatened by a common enemy, this is especially relevant for the crusades.

To be honest, religion turned out to create separate branches in itself. Hence fundamentalists, who strictly interperet their text and what it demands, and the more passive religious individual, who nods to both science and religion.
User avatar #87 - lamarisagoodname (07/28/2013) [-]
I disagree with you on one part where you say that religion should change with every new scientific knowledge. If a religion is to be "true" then science is simply an explanation of god's work, so it really makes no sense for any religious person to be against things like evolution, heliocentrism, etc

More specifically about evolution (at least the way I see it) I'm not going to ignore the fact that snakes and dolphins have hip bones but it's a pretty big longshot to say that humans evolved from homo erectus (why would we evolve backwards and lose depth perception, proper canines, harder bones etc)

When (or rather if) they find and confirm the missing link I'll approach the theory with open arms but as of right now, there needs to be 14 or 15 missing links to show gradual transition and disprove the adam / eve story and prove evolution in a traditional sense.

Right now it's a theory and plausible until disproved and I will accept it, I just disagree with it
User avatar #77 - lamarisagoodname (07/28/2013) [-]
muslim here

you're incorrect about Jihad (it has many forms, first off, most of it relating to personally working to better something for the glory of god, I assume you're relating to Jihad Al Saif, which is more about warfare) it hasn't actually changed since it's initial conception, it's essentially a set of rules of engagement (i.e no damaging of cultivated or residential land, no killing of children, women and noncombatants)

I'm not going to be so ignorant to say that people kill unjustly in the name of Jihad, but these rules have been around and unaltered for an extremely long time (origins date back to muslim scholar and jurist Muhammad Al-Shaybani (795-805))

My father is a creationist that believes in evolution.
#55 - anonymous (07/28/2013) [-]
Possible, some people believe that god created everything, and then placed the building blocks of life allowing evolution to happen.

As things stand, it's as good an explanation as science has, God appeared out of no where to do all of his stuff,

The Big Bang just appeared out of no where to do all it's stuff. We don't have a place where either of them came from, just that they could have happened.
User avatar #134 - alltimetens (07/28/2013) [-]
Actually, many creationists believe that God had always existed, because God created time, and therefore existed prior to time.
#79 - anonymous (07/28/2013) [-]
There's always M theory though. Theories that sound vauge and hilarious, but are so very interesting. ;D

Bascially M theory states that was the big bang was caused by a collision with an alternate dimension. ;P
