It's an invalid anon, pay no attention. HoN is the best out of the three in my opinion because it always comes out with fun new characters, there is no delay when you click unlike in Dota 2 (in my experience anyways). HoN is not noob friendly which is why most people prolly don't get into it.
User avatar #82 - ScottMJfan (04/26/2013) [-]
I don't like HoN because it's literally a Dota ripoff, no offence. If you like it, then you can have fun with that, but I just hate it honestly. There's no delay for Dota 2's clicking... Maybe your settings or hardware aren't up to par?

Also, we just got 2 new characters recently... Skywrath Mage and Bristleback :)

So yeah, we get new characters periodically.
User avatar #128 - SHAMU (04/26/2013) [-]
Ya, I just checked and HoN has like 65 original heroes. While I admit that HoN copied Dota 1, Dota 2 has actually copied HoN a lot more in terms of mechanics and gameplay.

Bristleback and Skywrath don't really count as new heroes since they're both from Dota 1.

And referring to your lower comment you don't get farm if you die in HoN. That only happens in LoL the only game retarded enough to still give you farm for dying.

And yes I have played all 3 games..
User avatar #129 - SHAMU (04/26/2013) [-]
Oh and like skullzero said there is indeed some delay despite my hardware and internet being up to the games standards. Also HoN just looks more colorful and alive!
#84 - skullzero (04/26/2013) [-]
My hardware is well above the recommended and my internet can run any online game without any delay.. I have no idea what it is but it's the main reason i don't play Dota 2, there's like a half second delay and it ruins the game for me.. In HoN, you get a new character around every 2 weeks - 1 month. HoN isn't really a Dota 2 ripoff because they have completely different skills mechanics.. it's much faster paced than Dota 2. If anyone wants dota 2 keys, i have 18....
#90 - broda (04/26/2013) [-]
It's called turn rate, not delay.
#92 - N. Korean citizen (04/26/2013) [-]
nah there is an unit response delay, HoN has a lower unit response delay than Dota2 but i imagine they can fix that when the game comes out of beta
User avatar #87 - ScottMJfan (04/26/2013) [-]
I don't know how HoN is now, but I know that when it first came out it was pretty much the same thing as Dota 2. I should have elaborated, sorry about that. And that's quite odd, you should report that to Valve.

The thing about Dota 2 is, is not fast-paced and dying a lot and still getting farm, it's about timing, teamwork, knowing when to jump on somebody or fight in a teamfight, and just not doing stupid shit. That's why I love Dota 2, honestly, because you have to go against your instincts to try and jump on something.
#88 - skullzero (04/26/2013) [-]
HoN's pretty much the same but you get more kills and probably die more. I also prefer the UI because when i hit someone, it doesn't feel like I'm doing barely any damage like in Dota 2. You should try playing HoN again before trying to compare the two. That's what I do every month or so to see which one i'll be playing based on the improvements done.

Learning it in the classroom was fine, I felt like I understood the concepts (it was Java by the way), but when I actually tried to write a code, I couldn't do it. Besides, me dropping out was also because I really like physics, and I don't want to give up on physics so easily.

I gotcha, we all have our different interests. Also, I don't know what douche thumbed you down for not liking code, but I thumbed you up.

Also, if you ever get bored and feel like trying programming again, I suggest learning HTML (very easy language, technically not programming, but helps) and then going into JavaScript (different from Java, much easier).

I'm told that for most of the country most anything melee is legal as long as it's not concealed in any fashion.
Fortunately many things are noot considered weapons and you can just keep them in your pockets. Short of a frisking nobody needs to know unless somebody needs to know.

Ganker, Semi-Carry and Hard Carry.
Overall it's Pudge, I think.

User avatar #424860 - tiagodisouza (04/21/2013) [-]
I play dota a bit but i've got some problems lately and can't play

- My favourite role has to be ganker, since im not a good last hitter at all i like to play roaming characters that have the ability to get in do alot of damage and get out
-Phantom lancer and Bounty hunter Phantom lancer because he helps me last it with his quick attack action and passives and has decent harass and can gank if needed. Bounty cause he is a beast in lane if played correctly, and ganks like a charm
- I either play solo (90%) or with neivis(10%)
- I play both LoL and dota currently and i know i will get hate for this but i play LoL for a less serious game and Dota when i want to do good and actually compete (note that i have played LoL for 3 years iirc)
User avatar #424861 - ScottMJfan (04/21/2013) [-]
Nice. Have you tried Clinkz, yet? He seems perfect for your roll. If you haven't just look him up, he's one of my favorite heroes to set up a gank for. And also, I don't mind the dual League/Dota thing. I hear a lot of people do it, I just don't care enough to download League when I feel like 'not trying as hard'. I just go into a bot game and see what happens.

Just showing off the downstairs at this point. This is all built into a mountain, by the way. The downstairs features a way to get in and out of the house by using a water levitation and waterfall system, which allows me to easily get in and out of my house without having to climb a fucking mountain every single time. Also helps keep the mobs out!
