The older consoles only have 512 megabytes of RAM which is actually very little, the PS4 and new Xbox are supposed to have around 16 Gigabytes of RAM, and that is very large. And RAM is what allows games to be large and expansive. The more RAM the better. They should have Quad core processors in them as well instead of single core, so their processing speed will be greatly increased and able to handle much more complex and a much larger amount of information. The main things effecting the graphics is the graphics card and the directX player, and both of those will be greatly improved from the last consoles as well. So to think that the games will continue to be on the same level of complexity as they are now is ridiculous. These new consoles will open the door for things that were impossible on previous consoles.

Mergers, sadly, almost always lead to layoffs, and that's exactly what's happening with Disney and Lucasarts; they're merging.
Not all of the people in the studio will be laid off - some will obviously be reclaimed to get the new developers on track with what's to be done.
Companies fire people so they can hire a fresh force and be able to pay at a starting salary instead of having to pay a lot of money to veterans of the respective field, due in part that they just doled out some cash to buy the assets of... whichever company they're getting, and want to save as much money as possible to get the biggest profit margin.

Personally I thought Disney made money hand over fist with buying the entirety of Lucasarts at $4 Billion, when Lucasarts was definitely worth somewhere around 80-100+ billion, but still, 4 billion is a lot of money.

Where did you read that? Every other article I've been seeing, Disney made the statement that they were trying to absorb the assets, meaning take in some jobs, and while they said they were going to lay off quite a bit of people, they never said they were going to flat out lay everyone off.

I read they laid off the whole studio and they are keeping it for licensing and to lease the rights to other developers, so they didn't need anyone to keep it at a low upkeep charge.

I never tried to imply there wouldn't be great Star Wars games in the future. I mourn the loss of the actual developer, LucasArts.

I would be fine with anyone but Disney that means no blood or gore or even dirty jokes it's like what the fuck man.

Star Wars was pretty clean and had absolutely no dirty language. So there is absolutely no problem here. Also, Pirates of the Carribean... you want to say that this movie didn't have any blood? No deaths, no nothing? Not even a tiny bit of adult elements? Man, Disney isn't all clean and nice, you know. You're getting thumbed down because your opinion is absolutely ridiculous. Personally, the big deal for me isn't that Star Wars games will be made by different people (if anything, I think that some new perspectives would be cool). It's more upsetting that all the people at Lucas Arts had to lose their jobs
