Its targeting a fairly specific demographic, which is, to be honest, quite smart. Its getting teens/young adults who are some of the least likely to donate to ANY organization to spend their money on a worthwhile cause. sure adults will say that about the kid, but the kids in his peer group will probably say something more like "Sweet shirt man, where can i get one like that"

not trying to argue with you or anything, just mentioning the validity of this, for lack of a better term, marketing scheme. After all, a little profit after factoring cost of making the shirt is better than no profit.

Unless this school has a super strict dress code (ie Uniforms) then i see no problem with this shirt. Although i do disagree with the manner in which he handled this situation. Not cool to disrespect your elders like that.

I proudly wear my Boobies Rule bracelet on the same arm i devoted to my Livestrong one, because i know both are putting their money where it counts.

If you wear a shirt that says something like the one I posted you have a small chance of having someone else make a donation.

With a shirt that says 'boobies make me smile' you have a fairly large chance of making someone else go 'wtf is wrong with that kid'

You're point is valid on the surface, but not really once you consider the facts. Quite honestly, having something that says cancer on it does fuck all. sure it 'raises awareness', but so what? you are now aware of cancer! The paraphernalia that is actually helping the fight against cancer donate the proceeds to finding a cure, regardless of what it says on it. Example: Recognize this little yellow guy? it doesn't have the word cancer on it anywhere, but its helping make a difference.

He said in his post that it was a breast cancer awareness shirt, I'm just saying it's not. It might be a 'breast cancer' shirt, and it might give some money to breast cancer research, but that doesn't make it a breast cancer awareness shirt, and that doesn't make it school appropriate.
