He's an astronomer and educator and, like the entire scientific community, has been completely in line saying that if there is a god, we haven't found it yet. As a side note I think Buddhism and Hinduism are better in principle than judo-catholic beliefs because they take death pretty much at face value and still manage to convince their believers to be good people, whereas Christianity, Judaism, and Islam act like death is a way out. That is really not something to include in a modern world view. | ||

| Exactly what I just said, thanks though. "he does not know of an overlying lord, but he doesnt care"-Agnostic In the same breathe he discusses how religion is hurting humanity. My point being that Neil DGT does in fact go out of his way to show that religion is a negative force on humanity in my video and in others. If you're using him as your champion, realize that he does argue against religion, he isn't a "I dont give a fuck and i dont discuss it" agnostic. Really if you're using him as an example then you should be like "Hey asshole, you're disrupting science with your Noah's ark bullshit". Tis all I'm saying... I only disagree with you in the point that NDGT shows discrimination towards certain faiths, which seems to attack the first bit of your sentence. I stand up for my beliefs and I get pinkies down. This is why we can't have intelligent discussions.
and i shot them down violently, because they were flawed severely. Here ill break it down for you:
P=premise C=Conclusion.
Your thought process:
P1: Good things happen to those who believe in God
P2: This man believes in God
C: Good things will happen to this man.
Now, you see, I used a counter example of children starving in Africa, which defeats your second premise. Something like 30k children die a day from starvation, using basic probability we can say that without a doubt, at least one of them believe in the same god you do, yet they are subject to a cruel malicious reality. Please don't respond with "oh there's shit waiting for them in heaven" Because we aren't talking about that, we're talking about what happened to the man with the golden voice. In this exact example, your theory doesn't work.

But what you didn't calculate are the many variables in which you must not have knowledge of. For if you had knowledge of these variables, then your answer would be different. For example, people who are Christians, normally have a harder life than people who don't believe in God. Evidence is of this conversation right now, and if not, then look at Egypt and Lybia, and even China, who mass murder people who claim to be Christians. Not to mention that you're logic is based on pure opinion which you have so deeply thought for so long that you now accept it as fact. Also, the children in africa, statistically wise, are either of the muslim faith, or of a natural faith found in the tribes. So they wouldn't know of God.
you fail to define these variables, you arent even attacking my premises, jesus what are you even saying is wrong of what im saying? christians having a hard life has nothing to do with what you said. Please tell me exactly where i am wrong here and dont dance around it. your argument isnt even an argument, it's just attempting to educate.
Variable. Christians are persecuted by other of different faiths.
Now if I may, use your theory of a=b=c, I'll show you your flaw.
You say that the way I am thinking is as simple as that, yet you didn't throw in the variable.
Now if we throw in this variable, then we have taken out your first sequence, in which, makes the other null and void, for there is no base in your argument. God blesses everyone on earth, not just Christians. Christians are the only ones who thank God for the blessings, in doing so, are singled out for it. By just believing in God, it does not state that your life will be filled with wonders and presents. It actually says that your life will be 10X harder to live. So in saying that, my point is, that God blessed that man with the voice, and in turn, he thanked God by giving him the glory for it. It's simple logic.

You are being so unbelievably vague it's hard to tell what you are even saying. take for instance:
"You say that the way I am thinking is as simple as that, yet you didn't throw in the variable. Now if we throw in this variable, then we have taken out your first sequence..."
What is "The variable" You clearly state above there are many variables, but now there is only one? You keep jumping around. Tell me exactly what you're talking about. Use simple language, it makes life a lot easier, you sound like the post-modernism bible. I'm not trying to be insulting, but there is definitely an easier way to say what you're saying without me having to break down every word, and i dont have to find 20 different interpretations.
As for your second part, god chooses to single out this man but not starving african children? Wait, what? this is seems very wrong, not something a kind, caring, god would do. And your fact that you say they are muslims is totally irrelevant, im saying in at least one of the millions of children who have died this way MUST have been a christian like you. Why do they die? Why dont they get the golden help of god? I choose to attribute this mans success to youtube and human beings, not an invisible man.
Pic related.

You're not looking at it the way I'm looking at it. I did say there are many variables, but I did not say that that is the only variable. That is just an example of a variable. I am making it as clear as possible, if you can't understand this logic then open your mind to newer things instead of closing it in.
Now to the starving children in Africa, why do you believe that God doesn't bless them? They are alive, aren't they? But the reason they are in the situation they are in is because of man, because of sin.
