but it's just a massive clunky gimmick...besides, if you wanted to like, RP this shit or whatever, wouldn't it just be the most annoying thing on the planet to wear whilst trying to play the game?

and seriously, are you gonna wear this public? are you gonna play with it as much as you would the actual game? no. no you fuckin won't. so why bother?

why not save 80 dollars and just, fuckin, wait?
#56 - anon (06/19/2015) [-]
$60, actually, which for the Pipboy and the case is well worth it to me. Especially considering that the only other way I could get a Pipboy would be to pay someone $100+ to make one for me.
#47 - shota (06/19/2015) [-]
It's a nice collectors piece, good for cosplayers and displaying.
I'm gonna be printing out the pipboy screen to put mine on display when I'm not using it.

And they admitted it's a dumb gimmick, but as far as gimmicks go it's pretty cool.

Two days.
Two fucking days and it was sold out Australia fucking wide.
What the fuck.

It's Australia, cunt. They probably love fallout over there, cunt. Because of Mad Max being a small influence, cunt...

The moment it was announced, I ran to EB Games to preorder it. Thankfully they let me even though it wasn't in their systems yet

I got FUCKED out of it. I wanted to buy it, but I had to wait for them to send me an activation email before they'd let me buy it!
#23 - painismysaviour (06/19/2015) [-]
Doesn't Amazon stock it? I pre-ordered one on there.
User avatar
#54 - sirgawain (06/19/2015) [-]
No, I wanted to get it from the official store.
User avatar
#21 - sirgawain (06/19/2015) [-]
It took 24 hours for the email to send and it was out of stock by the time I got the damn activation done.

Still think it just looks like an overpriced pile of plastic
#33 - anon (06/19/2015) [-]
You're not paying for plastic you're paying for a collectors item, the way there's more metal in a truck than a Ferrari, but the Ferrari is worth more.
User avatar
#34 - whateverdude (06/19/2015) [-]
I know, but they could've at least made it look a little authentic if they're gonna make it a collector's item. I'd rather have the pipboy in the content then one that looks like a child's toy...
User avatar
#35 - fatmanxxxx (06/19/2015) [-]
They changed how the pipboy looks. So it is authentic to the one in fallout 4. Also all it does is hold it on your arm the dials don't work
User avatar
#44 - whateverdude (06/19/2015) [-]
I know dude. All I'm saying that it looks like the kind of plastic toys you'd get with a happy meal instead of a 'real pipboy'.

My girlfriend bought mine through best buy the day after as a anniversary gift, she knew how much I loved the game series and gifted me this. To get her back, I'm going to get her a ps4 that she always wanted. Basically, I'm saying that yeah this is as hunk of plastic but for some people, anything can have sentimental value, the one pictured here means a lot to the person who made it and it looks awesome! I don't have talent to do that so when I got the chance to own one and my girl gifted me this, I felt amazing. Sure in about a year I can sell it for three times value but I would never think it because it was a gift, a gift for me. My sentimental value makes this happy meal toy a treasure.

#78 - whateverdude (06/20/2015) [-]
Pretty sure the other thousands of people who are gonna buy this won't get it from their girlfriends though...
User avatar
#32 - blademontane (06/19/2015) [-]
Ah, but one day that overpriced pile of plastic will sell to someone for an even more overpriced piece of plastic.
User avatar

I ordered 2.
I will sell you one for $300
#48 - anon (06/19/2015) [-]
I hope no one buys it off you out of principle and you're stuck down $120 with an extra piece of plastic garbage weight you down.
User avatar
#13 - lordfroz (06/19/2015) [-]
I have pre ordered a pc version lol from best buy. I might sell it on ebay for 3x the price. Thats what they are going for now.
#12 - vColtmanfraco (06/19/2015) [-]
Very unlikely they're restocking at all. Todd said it would be extremely limited. I was lucky enough to get in quick.
User avatar
#17 - dudemiesterman (06/19/2015) [-]
They'll be limited but there's no way they aren't restocking after selling what, a couple dozen thousand of em? They'll definitely restock, there's tons of money left to be made off it.
User avatar
#37 - blopant (06/19/2015) [-]
tell that to nintendo.

it seems lately running out of stock on collectibles seems to be the standard for video game companies.
User avatar
#39 - dudemiesterman (06/19/2015) [-]
This is different. This is a guaranteed high profit margin on an item MILLIONS of people want, that is probably cheap to produce. It's mostly made of hard plastic probably.
User avatar
#75 - blopant (06/19/2015) [-]
i dunno.

have you been following the amiibo craze?

as a side note, isnt the whole point a limited edition supposed to be just that? limited?
User avatar
#77 - dudemiesterman (06/20/2015) [-]
Also, this is a game people care about IMMENSELY. A game people have waited 7 years for, because of how amazing the prequels were. That's totally different than any amiibo related BS.
User avatar
#76 - dudemiesterman (06/20/2015) [-]
Exactly, but there are millions of people who'd still buy one, and they could give it to half of those people and it'd still be a limited edition because a lot of people don't want one. And no, the amiibo craze was half dead out of the womb so I didn't care.
#11 - ratamutu (06/19/2015) [-]

i just assumed he thinks he understands how being a celebrity works and that the only 3 ways to stay relevant is to either be really good actor with well known roles played, be a train wreck of a person, or be weird. he probably knows he is too young to have any real experience so he inst trying to go for that angle since its passive and happens naturally, he doesn't want to just ruin his life just to be popular, so he went for option three and just does some odd stuff so that people will remember he exists so later down the road when he does become a good actor that people will recognize, he will also be the guy who seemed to have changed the most from when he was a kid so people will admire teh gap between his perceived personality and his actual personality.
