What county mate?
Antrim, from Lisburn to be specific
Raised Catholic then? Can only guess by your answer
Of course, growing up on the cityside and in the Bogside, it doesn't leave many other options. That and I call it
I know what you mean, only been up there once when working for charity, stayed in a hostel for 3 days, got absolutely shit faced for 3 days basically, as any good charity worker should
Of course, you're doing God's work. A catholic yourself? I don't see many/any Protestants/Loyalists on FJ.
Indeed, Raised Catholic, went to a catholic primary school, but never been one to stick close to religion myself, I let people believe as they wish, as long as they don't kill over it, or try rub it in my face.
And not really any prods on FJ because they're all out Rioting during the Summer!
Haha, too true. I still practice my religion, I'm skeptical, yet deep down there is some part of me that won't let go of my Catholicism, likely because it has become part of the nation identity and superseded simple religion status here, it defines you.
That's very true, but I'm half English you see, my dad was raised protestant but never cared about religion, and I got that part off of him. I'm coming 21 and at this point I'm basically a clone of him, which is weird considering my parents broke up 19 years ago, and I was raised by my mum, funny how genetics works.
I too am half English, though my dad left when I was 2 so I was raised by my Mum's Catholic and large side of the family, (I don't know my father's religion) and use their name exclusively save for official documents. Look how similar we are.
I moved recently to live with my old man, for work reasons, much easier to find work whenever you're in a place with much more bars, and in general jobs open over here. It's a large country, and I'm looking forwards to probably getting a job working with troubled teens in foster homes.
Good man yourself, I don't exactly appreciate my dad, as he lives in England and doesn't make much effort to be a part of my life. His side of the family are really nice though, and I speak to a lot of them frequently. Good luck with that man, a noble career prospect.
My dad has been fairly active in my life growing up, when I couldn't see him, at least calling me once a week, checking up on me etc, I'm happy to have him in my life, and I can understand why you don't talk to him, by what you've said. And thanks man
It's been good talking to you mate, Sláinte
