I don't think the situation you specified would count as rape, just terrible decision making. And it would be wrong for the male to be persecuted for rape.

So basically, if a woman flirts it is her fault if she gets raped? How do you think some couples meet? I met my last boyfriend at a bar- the attraction was mutual, we shared drinks and he turned out to be a nice guy so i agreed to go out for dinner with him.
That is normal. I know a ton of people who have done exactly that.
I have also had an encounter with some idiot who turned out not to be so nice. Seemed very nice at first- he was rather attractive, witty but after a while i realised that he was getting very creepy and a bit....odd. So i left with my friend. She went to her car. He followed me to my car, attempted to back me up against it and grabbed my dress so i punched him. I knocked the guy out. Most women are not as strong physically as i am, they would have had to put up with that. God knows what he would have been able to do if he followed my friend instead.
No matter what, it is not right. Im not some crazy feminist or anything here, I just think that everyone- woman or man should be safe from being violated. This includes not being made to feel like it is their fault- when it really fucking is not.
whoa whoa whoa. I am not saying it is okay. I'm not saying it is always women. We both know that is an incorrect statement. It sounds to me like you were pretty clear about your intentions after a short talk. him following you after you had make your decision makes him a creep. But I have had friends on both sides of this situation. let me give you an example. my friend went to the bar with this girl he had known for years. he constantly was her sober driver because she would always get smashed when they went out, she would go out and start giving her number to random guys and accepting drinks from random guys and my friend would constantly have to come to her defense against these guys. well one night we were all at the bar drinking, we all got smashed and I left after they started talking. she had started saying things like she had always liked him etc. etc. long story short they ended up making out (kept it pg13). the next day she called me and told me he took advantage etc etc claimed she was black out drunk(she wasn't. remember i was there for most of it) totally blamed my buddy. my friend has had plenty of opportunities to take advantage but instead he has always defended her but the one time they both got drunk and iffy decisions were made she blamed him AND lied about what happened. yes they guy who followed you was a total creep, but more often than not the situation is something to this effect. simply a bad decision where instead of realizing that it was nothing more than that and taking some part the blame gets passed entirely on to the guy and BAM he is a bad guy.
