This reminds me of Lelouch's power from Code Geass... Yeah more of a curse than anything. You could make something happen by accident, by being sarcastic or using figures of speech, or exadurating, you'd have to spend the rest of your life watching what you say with the utmost care

For those that haven't seen Code Geass (Awesome anime btw), Lelouch (The main character) is given the power to make people do whatever he wants for one time by looking at their eyes and activating his power. In the end his power permanantly activates and he can't look at people directly in fear of accidentally ordering them to do something.
He had to learn this the hard way after he said to his best/long-time friend 'I could order you to kill everyone in this country and you'd obey me' Then she goes off and tries to kill everyone. So he has to kill her.

Yeah, the whole plan to deal with Mao was done quite well

Now that whole scene is rather complex, I don't completely understand it myself, but as far as I know, That realm that they were talking in is the realm of the 'collective unconcious' aka. the personalities, memories, experiences of every human alive and dead (Which is thought of as a god). Now in order for world peace to happen, everyone must understand eachother. Thus Charles and Marianne wanted to fuse every human identity into one; everyone on the earth would think exactly the same. No more wars.
Now Lelouch, realizing that a world of peace where nothing happened, was worse than a world with wars but ever-changing, used his geass on the collective unconcious influencing them to destroy his parents (since they were technically in it's mindspace it could do whatever it wanted to them).
And finally, Suzaku and Lelouch's viewpoints about how they thought the empire should be changed (Climb the ranks and do it from the inside, legally vs Terrorism) are kinda pointless since it's all done now, they join up with eachother again...
