This is what car insurance is for, man.
I'm fairly certain you have insurance, therefore the worst that will happen is your insurance bill gets higher for the next couple of months.
Look man, don't stress about the bills.
It'll take weeks, months even, before anything like that will start to happen. Maybe your insurance company will start raising the bill a bit now, but I'm not too sure.
> "Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring it's own worries.
Today's trouble is enough for today."
Everyone is fine.
And if you have hefty bills to pay, then that's something you will have to deal with when it comes your way. But worrying about it now won't do you any good.
If you need a new method of transportation, then either start looking into other methods such as public transportation or even car-pooling. Or if you have awesome friends who are willing to give you rides to and from work.
Everything is going to be fine. Just focus on the present, and focus on the actions that will build up to the future; Rather than focusing on the future alone.
There's an endless amount of possibilities that can come from this, so you over-thinking into this will just set yourself up for disappointment and failure. Take things as they come. Take things one at a time. Roll with the punches.

First, let me just say that everything will be just fine. I've been there and definitely understand the guilt you are experiencing. In order to prove my point, I'll briefly summarize my auto history for you.
I'm nineteen years old. Not even the older half of nineteen. I've been directly involved in four car accidents since I received my license at age 16. Three of them totaled my car.
1. Blew a tire and careened off road into a ditch
2. Head on collision in an intersection with a truck running a red light. I had a passenger.
3. I hit a parked car in a parking lot (totally misjudged my turn into a parking space)
4. Most recently (last August), I blindly turned in front of a large dump truck. Both my girlfriend and myself went to the hospital. We broke up less than a month later.
I've always been a great driver, as I'm sure you are, but since then, I've been on medication to control anxiety and attention deficiencies. If you find yourself frequently spacing out while driving, it may be something to look into.
But most important piece of advice I can give you is that the guilt will go away. You will learn from your mistakes and provided that nobody was injured, you will be able to move on for the most part. You may still have a lingering feeling of doubt in your capabilities but remember that everybody makes mistakes. Even if the financial and emotional ramifications are burdening right now, remember that this situation is fleeting. Do not hide from the circumstances. Take active responsibility to do what you can in order to make things right. Doing so will make you much better off in the long run.

my pops always tells me this little story, its stupid but it always makes me feel good.
talks about a poor farmer who had nothing but a horse. trained that horse every day made it strong so it could mend the fields for crops. but one day the horse runs away. and the whole village comes and tells the farmer "farmer john, you lost your only horse whos gonna mend the fields now? man that must be the worst luck ever" the farmer simply says, "well it could be bad or good luck, who knows?" so one day the horse comes back with 30 horses. stronger than the other one. the farmer said "see, i told you it wasnt such a bad luck" so many horses that he employs his son to train the horse and sell them. one day the farmers son falls off the horse, and breaks his back. the villagers come and tell the farmer. "man that must be the worst luck ever" farmer just said "who knows if its bad or good luck?" well war comes around and they recruit everyone's son, except the farmers.
basically moral of the story is, shit happens for a reason. hope i did something nigga

After leaving the Army I took on some gainful employment prior to starting my first semester at college and there was a lot of vets working there. Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, every branch was represented. When we had time we would sit around and bullshit with each other telling our stories. Everyone except our boss, who was a Coast Guard veteran. We gave her no end of shit for it, and this comic is pretty much 100% accurate.
