I remember how we were all called in one by one to see him, and as the oldest, I was the first one to go in and see him, but he just looked at me with his withered eyes and asked me "Where's my favourite one...".

I could barely hear him as his lungs just underwent surgery, so I walked in closer to him, held his hands, and asked him gently to repeat himself just to make sure I heard him correctly. He shook off my hands, and told me to "Bring in the youngest... I want to see the youngest..."

My dad died a few days after getting an apartment, getting it furnished, and sitting in his chair like a happy man with a bed and everything prepared for me. He had reached his dream right before it. My granddad died with his family around him.
I wish your's could at least have died with family around him, peacefully, knowing who they were..

Shit happens. The only thing you can do is to try and get over it. And since my grandad would have his legs amputated and be unable to do more, I'm glad he died like that without pain. He's a stubborn man, he wouldnt could live like that. Shame bout my dad tho. He was a great one at that. But i have my mom, and she's the best fucking mom ever, and due to her hard work, we're all doing well with education and economy
