Are you viewing this from a legal standpoint, or an ethical standpoint?

User avatar #424 - ubercookieboy (11/30/2013) [-]
Welp, from a legal standpoint. It IS illegal. Since the animal is considered property and taking it is theft.

From an ethical standpoint, it is justified. The dog was suffering and it needed to be relocated.

User avatar #426 - ubercookieboy (11/30/2013) [-]
I am arguing under the assumption that OP is telling the truth and is well informed.

I am not contending you on legal perspectives. Those are set in stone and clearly understandable. I do not respect them in the slightest.

Ethically speaking, just because it is objective doesn't mean it's any less valid. If you explained the dogs situation to any animal lover they would take the same stance as I do.

If you aint an animal lover. Fine, that is just your nature. I won't question you about it. But understand that some of us do like animals; some of us even view them as equals. They are living beings just like us. If their well being is threatened we come to their aid and damn any law that prohibits us from doing so.

#448 - dandyhandy (11/30/2013) [-]
Wrong.
Behaviorists and psychologists have proven time and time again that dogs have nearly identical brain chemistry to us, and experience complex emotions almost exactly the way we do.
User avatar #431 - ubercookieboy (11/30/2013) [-]
Just as much as there is no evidence indicating a lack of emotion or sentience.
#449 - dandyhandy (11/30/2013) [-]
Do not accept what he says as fact.
Go research it yourself before you have this argument again so that you don't allow someone a head up in an argument when they are clearly wrong. There is a TON of evidence for sentience in many animals, especially dogs.
User avatar #450 - ubercookieboy (11/30/2013) [-]
You responded to the wrong dude.
#451 - dandyhandy (11/30/2013) [-]
No, I didn't.
You basically said that it was true that there is no evidence of emotion, but that there wasn't any evidence against it, either.
In reality, there is evidence for both. It has been proven time and time again that they DO have sentience, which is used as evidence against the idea of a lack of sentience.

User avatar #439 - ubercookieboy (11/30/2013) [-]
Then I will speak out of experience.

I've bonded with many animals. Take dogs for example. They have their own personality, their own temperament, they hate certain things and love certain things, they even have kinks just like us.

unsupported argument with implausible premises and no logical deduction.

Instinctive feelings are the most genuine emotions, just as much as empathy.

A) If you don't like the site then stop using it. No one hear will miss your poor attempts at trolling

B) Because his opinion is contrary to yours its not his own opinion. So what your saying is anyone who disagrees is a brainwashed zombie and that only your opinion is your own. There's some fine logic right there

C) All ad hominem does is show you have no actual argument

I didn't say your opinion was wrong, I said that I disagree with it. I'm aware that opinions can't be wrong, and I'm not accusing you of being wrong. I'm just pointing out the fact that you're the minority here, so you don't get to be surprised when people bitch at you

Yeah, I was agreeing with you. That's pretty much how opinions work, I'm sorry that this is news to you(?) Anyway, I must be off now, it's been fun chatting, have fun attempting to piss off the rest of the people on this page

PC is not the gaming master race. Having all systems used to play games is what qualifies for being the master race. Also, I have a couple old PC games that came in cases.

If we're taking about the gamer master race, then sure, I agree with you.

Speaking purely about gaming platforms, though, the PC out-scales consoles both in performance specs and game libraries, and will for the foreseeable future.
