Remove the battery, take the laptop apart, and give it a good cleaning with 91% alcohol and a cloth. Coffee filters work great since they're lint free. Oh and don't remove the heatsink unless you have more thermal paste on hand. The alcohol should evaporate quickly, along with the tiny amount of water in it, but I'd still let it dry for a day or so.

But it really just depends on whether anything was damaged when it got wet. The hard drive should probably be fine, but you won't be able to use it as a boot drive in another PC without formatting it, thus removing everything on it. But if you just need to recover stuff from it, they're just standard hard drives in a smaller form factor. Just give it power and a SATA cable to the motherboard.

I'm not aware of any issues with the 850 series at all. The only Samsung SSDs I know of with issues are the 840 evos, which is what I have. A software fix was eventually released.
