An astronaut is walking in space and his jetpack runs out of fuel. How can he use his empty pack to get back to the space station?

This works because of newtons third law of motion - every action has an equal, but opposite reaction.

Therefore, if he were to punch a rock in space with his super human power, it would fly in the direction he punched at speeds too fast to comprehend, and he would have an equivalent momentum backwards. As he has more mass than the rock, (probably) he will not go as fast, but will travel in the direction opposite of what he punched. This could propel him back to earth.

Could a normal human do this? Fucking no. He'd move, but not be able make it back home. BUT IF YOU HAVE FUCKING SUPER HUMAN POWER, YOU CAN.

nno... to explain this as simply as possible: try wearing iceskates, go to an ice skating field,get a friend to do the same, then try propulse yourself backwards by pushing your friend. what will happen is that both of you will just meagerly move backwards. this would be the same result as well in space, except if he would hit it he would simply just cause whatever he hit to turn to dust and he himself would still be left hanging in space.
