Placebo is when you expect something to happen so your body reacts as if it's happening.

Associations are not placebo. I play on both pc and console some games fits better on pc and some on consoles and I had been playing on pc for a long time before getting a ps3 so if I would be biased to any side it would have been too pc!

It's been proven that using something for multiple reasons lessens the amount you gain from specific parts than if you have something that you only use for that, like the example I gave about the bed. Dont try to find the logic in it, it's emotional, thats why we differ between logical decisions and emotional.

No it becomes an irrational fear to fear all dogs cause of one attack, not logical.
The pc is used for so many other things than just gaming meaning it got multiple associations, consoles are nearly only used for games so when using consoles you get deeper into the immersion and thus improving the experience.

and Placebo effects are emotional as well. Placebo effects are when your emotions cause you to experience effects from something that said something does not actually give, because you BELIEVE you'll get that effect. You believe that playing on a console gives a greater experience, so you get a greater experience from playing on consoles.

It's an irrational fear, but the reason for having that fear is understandable.
And PCs being used for multiple things does NOT change the game AT ALL from playing it on a console (unless you count modding, but that's another story), there is no precedent what-so-ever for playing on a console to immese you more into the game.

There is NO previous experience for you associate console gaming as better than PC gaming, when the games do not change according to what you play them on. And on a good enough computer, the graphics would even be improved; which would more than likely IMPROVE the immersion from the console version.

Becoming afraid of DOGS, not 1 single dog, because of an attack is an association that was made from that attack, and do I really have to spell out for you that emotions are NOT logical.
User avatar #275 - Nihatclodra (21 hours ago) [-]

And what I am getting at, is that someone would fear dogs due to a previous incident, which IS logical... but there is no "previous incident" that would cause you to associate playing games on a games-only device with the games being more entertaining; which is why I am calling it a placebo effect.

All sensations are created in the mind, thats does not make it a placebo effect, if people once got attacked by a dog and thus becomes afraid of dogs it's not placebo effect, it's an negative association that overrides all other sensations.

There were a few. Once while I was taking a leak a girl walked in to the guys washrooms and eight up to the urinal next over. Had she/he not had it's willy out, I would have sworn that it was a girl.
An awkward silence broke out as we emptied our respective bladders, so I decided to break it, "Sup, that's a nice crossplay."
She turned to me and had a puzzled look on her face, "What? I'm not crossplaying, this is just what I normally wear," her voice was indeed a she's.
She smiled and pulled up her panties, she left after she washed her hands.
MFW I met the best crossplayer ever.

Oh well, maybe it's for the best. I just saw how rare my dragon is (there's only 10 out there right now, <100 if you combine all it's stages... except Eggs, haven't checked the eggs). The Badge is a pain in the ass to make, but it can be done with patience and grinding. Meanwhile, dragons take Luck, Patience, and Grinding, so they're more difficult to get (and evolve)... I think I'm just gonna try and get this guy up as high as I can get him. If you want to trade your badge for my other stuff, I'll probably say yes (except the Demi-God, Spider, Animated Bones, Coal Bot, and (of course) my Dragon... unless I end up with duplicates at some point. Which wouldn't surprise me, considering I've built up quite a collection in less than 5 days of starting the Item Game again. Rarest Items I had from the last time I stopped playing the Item Game were the Magic Sundae, dubs (11, 22, 33, etc), and a Wyrm Statue).

"for a chance to create fabulous weapons and armor."

It's not guaranteed, you just need to workshop-spam.

I've had this account for awhile and never had people mention me in comments until recently. What's the deal? Did this manga suddenly become popular on this site or something?
User avatar #415 to #414 - Nihatclodra (02/18/2013) [-]
A friend of mine told me about it yesterday, and I was reading it on my mom's comp. I had to go to sleep, so I posted a link here so I could start again where I left off on this computer.
User avatar #416 to #415 - alyosha (02/18/2013) [-]
Ah. Okay. Sorry to bother you, but I literally went over a year without a single "mentioned in comment" notification, and within the past week there have been like five. I am confuse.

Sure... once I finish collecting all these items.

Help me, I'm addicted to FJ Items again... also, can i have your FJ points? You aren't using them for anything.
#408 to #407 - honourableevil (02/17/2013) [-]
Lol nope, I'm just going to sit back and watch you collect them all. I'll even come over to dispose of your corpse when you've died from item overdose. And as for the points, nah not gonna happen, I'm keeping them.

Damn, i spent all mine... and you have 30k that'll never be used...

Oh well, in the past 3 days, I've skyrocketed to be among the top 1500 Item Collectors on this site, I'll manage. I even have 1 item of which only 100 exist on the site.

Oh god help me, I sold Joey's top-percentage Ratata for top-tier items.
#410 to #409 - honourableevil (02/17/2013) [-]
Yeah, you might have a problem on your hands...But then again, those are your hands...I'm sure it'll be just fine, just fine. Also, do you have happen to have some gold lying about, I could use it if your corpse doesn't take it into the afterlife.
User avatar #411 to #410 - Nihatclodra (02/17/2013) [-]
Sure. I have Gold Ingots, Gold Ore, and Nazi Gold. I'll take some to pay the ferryman though.
