I really want to know where you have had experience balancing games, because I've been working on one for the past 9 months and balancing everything has been the biggest problem we've encountered over the entire thing. I'll even agree with you that they have made bad design decision, and have gone about some thing the wrong way. Although I am curious as to what you consider the bad choices.

That's not stupidity. balancing game is extensively fucking hard, and can take a very long time to get right. Also, while the game does have its problems, it is nowhere even close to sucking. You must have been gifted with avoiding some seriously atrocious games if you think GTA sucks.

Not before the update. Even after, it still sort of remains.
If you fail a mission that requires you to shoot up some niggas, but doesn't pay much, you're going to need to spend at least that much to buy your ammo back since any ammo used in a mission doesn't come back, and you lose loads of it anyways if you die.

Obviously once you get your stride you won't fail as much, but it's pretty obvious that the game is poorly designed in some areas. Whether it's intentional or not, I don't know. I'd rather think that Rockstar is greedy instead of just plain stupid.
#9 - Neodude (11/20/2013) [-]
I see it as they are having troubles adjusting and balancing Online, as they haven't really done something exactly like it before.

Getting killed or busted makes you fail the mission, so no payday. Also, it costs money to die, and you lose a shitload of ammo for whatever weapons you have.
They nerfed it, but it used to cost thousands if you died.
#7 - Neodude (11/20/2013) [-]
If they meager amount of money you don't get for failing the mission, plus the cost of refilling ammo is so much that you would need to purchase the money, then I feel like possibly GTA isn't quite something for you. It is insanely easy to outpace money lost, and it not difficult at all to pass most missions.

#134 - stratotastic (11/18/2013) [-]
Actually Canada did a shitload not going to type it out, don't have the time. But Canada liberated the first Italian city but forces were called back so the Americans could go in. Might want to do some research before you say Canadians didn't do much.
#135 - anonymous (11/18/2013) [-]
I said Canada didn't do much compared to the UK, Russia, and the US, which is true. Russia single handedly held the western front, the UK held of the Germans on the eastern front, and the US assisted majorly on the taking back of the eastern front with the UK, whilst defeating the Japanese with help from the aussies.

I'm not saying Canada did nothing, but it's undeniable they didn't do as much as the previous three listed.

I`m leaving this article here whether you choose to read it is up to you.
``On 6 June 1944, the 3rd Canadian Division landed on Juno Beach in the Battle of Normandy and sustained heavy casualties in their first hour of attack. By the end of D-Day, the Canadians had penetrated deeper into France than either the British or the American troops at their landing sites, overcoming stronger resistance than any of the other beachheads except Omaha Beach. In the first month of the Normandy campaign, Canadian, British and Polish troops were opposed by some of the strongest and best trained German troops in the theatre, including the 1st SS Division, the 12th SS Division and the Panzer-Lehr-Division.``

The Canadians did alot during the war with there limited numbers and limited money.

"Give me Canadian soldiers, American technology and British officers and I'll rule the world." - Winston Churchill
#140 - anonymous (11/18/2013) [-]
That's well and good, but as we know US and british forces still penetrated Normandy, getting through first doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.

And again, i'm not saying Canada did nothing, but in comparison of the whole of the war the UK, US, and Russia did more. There wouldn't have been a Normandy invasion without US and UK planning, ever hear the phrase "Won the battle but lost the war?" The UK, US and Russia planned the war, Canadians helped, i'm not denying that, but it's not a matter of opinion that the UK, US, and Russia did more, it's fact.
#141 - stratotastic (11/18/2013) [-]
Canada provided both an Airfield and pilot training for Britain, Britain was overwhelmed an would have lost the war without Canada the US did not enter the war until 1942 and the Soviets until 1941 if Canada had not been there the war would have been over before both joined, it`s fact.
#143 - anonymous (11/18/2013) [-]
I disagree, Britain could've easily found another airfield to train on, the US was already supporting the UK to a great degree, an airfield could've easily been designated to the british. And without Canadian support to the UK the US more likely than not would've joined the war much sooner. And a hypothetical situation isn't fact, we don't know what would've happened. My hypothetical situation is as valid as yours, which is why hypothetical arguments are silly, they can go either way.

AGAIN, AND PLEASE READ THIS SLOWLY, I'M NOT SAYING CANADA DID NOTHING. They had a support role, whilst the UK, US, and russia had more direct roles in the winning of the war.
#142 - gerfox (11/18/2013) [-]
There's a lot Britain would have lost the war without. They also barely managed to salvage the Norwegian merchant fleet containing 50% of the worlds oil tankers at the time - without it, they wouldn't have been able to transport enough food and fuel to the UK to hold off the Luftwaffe.
#95 - gerfox (11/17/2013) [-]
ahh, of course - you're Canadian. You go without saying. Having the third largest navy in the world, and the fourth largest air force in WW2, and landing at Normandy it's pretty obvious that you participated greatly, like the other dominions of the British Empire.

#21 - Neodude (11/15/2013) [-]
Well, going through BC, the scenery is pretty bad-ass as it goes through the Rockies. Then you hit Alberta, and teat's just plains, almost no trees(from what I've experienced.) After that it's Saskatchewan, which is all flat, but you get the occasional cluster of trees, and depending on the season some awesome fields of wheat/mustard seed. Into Manitoba, same as before, but the occasional hill really shakes things up. After that, you hit Ontario, you get trees, hills, and some wetlands. That basically carries over(again from what I've experienced) until you near the cost again, where it get's a little bit rocky, and the trees aren't quite as dense and everywhere.
User avatar #7 - bme (11/15/2013) [-]
holy fuck good point. aparently like 18 hours of it is just getting out of ontario though the 401 zig zags like a mother fucker through northern ontario.
#8 - Neodude (11/15/2013) [-]
ahh..ya, I could see that taking an excessive amount of time. but hey, at least there is some scenery to look at. Although my apologies if you are headed into the prairies, we can't really control how flat it is.

yeah sorry forgot to mention that, i like to play semi aggressive and focus on military strength
User avatar #12 - xxbutthurtxx (11/15/2013) [-]
Japan really is the best civ to play agressive, later in the game though Russia is also pretty good.(fast unit production and double strategic recources) If you want to expand like crazy take China, take Greece if you are into shoving money into city states asses. If you just want to have a single city and nothing else play India (you can get a cultural or science victory really easy with Gandhi). If you want to focus on early wonders take Egypt, if you want to focus on religion early take Kelts, if you are more into a religion which is normal at first but get better then the others later take Byzantium. Basicly a mixture of
military force and superior science get the job done every time.

You will get better in the game the more often you play it.
