he had 14%. Not 18%
Idk sometimes strange shit happens for example my little sister has this friend who's half black and half white... her dad is almost as dark as fucking night but she doesn't look mixed AT ALL. And don't go saying it's not her real dad because her other two siblings look just like her and they all have the same parents.
I'm a quarter black and I look pretty damned white, so it's not hard to believe, especially if he had two watered down grandparents that mated.
allow me to reduce your stupidity. just because he has 18% african gene doesn't mean it would necessarily show in his physical form. there are two types of genes in terms of how they can be viewed: genotype (genetic traits that can be viewed on the body) and phenotype (genetic traits that don't show on the body but may be microscopic, within the body or recessive genes). so there you have it. hope this helped making you a little less stupid. someone could be 25% black and still look white. that's how genetics work.
It's vice versa with geno- and phenotype, and you missed the guy's point anyway.
It's not his physical appearance but more the fact that such a large percentage as 18% would be like his grandparent being black, something he should have known already. However, this issue is addressed in comment #28.
You switched up genotype and phenotype.
Theres no such thing as "African" DNA
Well there is, you can tell where peoples ancestors are from by dna
Yeah but you cant look at DNA and say its African or Asian. Looking at it scientifically, your DNA may be most closely similar to someone in Africa or Asia while you have no inheritance from there and are a white kid.
Well there are genes for being black etc. or else it wouldn't happen
There are no individual genes for being black, there are only genes and combinations of genes which are more prevalent in some races than in others.
I didn't say there was.
Well you said "there are genes for being black", so that's what I thought you meant.
Fair enough, I could have worded it better. My bad.
Why's it matter, really?
At the end of the day he still does have a little African in him.
Not all Africans are black; many European countries including France, Netherlands, Italy and Belgium had large colonies in Africa.
Or you know, he could have great-great-grandparents in both family branches that were black.
Actually, his great-grandparent, and it was 14% but the what you're saying isn't completely incorrect. You'd think he'd know if his great-grandfather was African.
Unless it was his great-grandfather that was black, then it would make sense that he didn't know him.
it's "couldn't have been" not "couldn't of been"
fuck you mario, lol
