No no no no no, you are 100% correct, but that is the politically correct bullshit that America seems to love. One of the biggest/ easiest ways to fix about 75% of the problem with politics.

4-8 year term limits on congress members. Then everything you just talked about vanishes instantly.

Also you can't really cobble in religious into that. Most religious people don't get involved in that sort of thing too much. Religious people come in all forms and political views. I was saying liberal and feminist because those seem to be the two main groups which focus on 'protecting people from themselves' liberals more than feminists but if you combine the two you usually end up with either a soccer mom (the main source of 'that might warp my child') or a hardocre man hater who wouldn't really give a shit.

Wait...shit.

I looked the other night thinking it was LGBTS and then learning it was actually LGBTQ...And NOW they've added another two?

How many fucking sexualities are there? Soon enough they'll have the whole damn alphabet in there.

On a related note, I'm pretty pro equal sex movement (or whatever it's called) but I feel as if a couple of them are there for the sole reason of being another 'unique' sexuality to have to ones name. Like pansexual; defined as 'not limited or inhibited in sexual choice with regard to gender or activity'

If anything that sounds just like bisexuality without a preference between male or female...but I might be wrong so I'm more than open to being corrected/told I'm an insensitive fuckwit. I'm kinda confused here.

Sexuality is a massive sliding scale, with common points strung out on the line. Bisexuals like boys or they like girls, pansexuals like boys, girls, transexuals, gender-queer, whatever.
#68 - mowgaycraft (12/07/2013) [-]
Adding on, I feel a need to fix my wording when I said 'set in stone' in regards to gender.

Of course there are ways to change from there but I forgot for that moment there.
#64 - mowgaycraft (12/07/2013) [-]
That anon replying here. Forgot to sign in.

I've heard the sliding scale thing and even still I'm kinda confused. Seeing as when classifying the matter scientifically there's two genders; male and female. If they're male turned female or female turned male just means that they've switched the two...still allowing for bisexuality.

And gender queer, not to be rude, going by what I know of it seems like another of those new unique classifications for that reason. Psychologically I can understand their angle but it's still pretty set in stone biologically at the time unless there are biological defects of any sort.

Please continue this. I'm not trying to mean any offense here but it'd be understandable if you'd wanna stop here.

It's always fun to talk about things like this, but also, scientifically there are actually about 5 sexes (capone.mtsu.edu/phollowa/5sexes.html), gender however, is a murkier sliding scale than sexuality, as it is all in how you view yourself ranging from extremely "manly" to extremely "feminine"
#92 - mowgaycraft (12/07/2013) [-]
But if that's just a slider then isn't it just the two? Seeing as you're going on a 'which one are you more like?' approach where you're simply picking and choosing from the two separate ends?

If it's not obvious, I didn't really read all of that link...I'd rather discuss it as it's a bit more interesting...and I'm allergic to reading.

I don't know because I don't care a lot, but there's a distinction between what you physically are and what you're sexual identity is, it's like "gender vs. sex" or something like that. Basically, if you have a penis, you're a man, if you have a vagina, you're a woman, if you have both, you're hermaphroditic, but your sexual identity can range a lot more in between that, like you can be a man who's straight but really feminine, or a man who's really gay but super masculine, or a butch girl or a sweet innocent lesbian.
#511 - mowgaycraft (12/08/2013) [-]
I think we skimmed over that earlier with 'psychological gender' and 'biological gender's.

First off, most of the people here are probably quite against trophy hunting in general. But, second off, this particular women was acting like she was big and bad for hunting down a lion.

So, she's managed to do something that should (basically) offend everybody: Sport hunters are offended because she's playing it off as an achievement when it's actually easy and cowardly, and those AGAINST sport hunting are pissed off because of all those reasons PLUS the fact that she's hunting for sport in the first place.

That's why more people are offended at this then at regular sport hunting. Even if you're OKAY with sport hunting, acting tough because you killed a lion is pathetic. If you're AGAINST sport hunting, it's pathetic *and* immoral.
#474 - rabidaardvark (12/07/2013) [-]
Trophy hunting may have been going on for a long time, but so did slavery. just because it has a lot of history doesnt mean we have to let it continue. I never got how trophy hunting could be a sport anyway; wheres the challenge in using your telescopic rifle to shoot something that has no idea you are there from hundreds of meters away? If you want a challenge go hunt animals with a spear and sharp rock.

we kill livestock to feed ourselves, not for sport
#555 - anonymous (12/07/2013) [-]
Well everyone gives a shit about polar bears, but the same logic is behind it, you only give a shit about it dying because it's pretty. Also no one claims to have "hunted" a cow, so it's not really a comparable argument. And hunting isn't about the animal's ability to "fight back" so much as it's about the animal's ability to just leave. Deer are a hard kill, lions aren't.
tldr
Your argument is shit.
#367 - anonymous (12/07/2013) [-]
Lions are in danger of going extinct in a few short decades. If you're going to hunt them, at least give the poor things enough time to recover their damn numbers.

See other comments. Food industry is disgusting, the way we treat meat cows is disgusting, but there's still a damn good reason for it - to give us food. No one kills lions to eat them. They kill them to make trophies out of them. Huge difference.
User avatar #60 - Muppetz (12/07/2013) [-]
Moral of the story.
Why do people give a fuck about one animal and not the other?
We hang cow skulls on cars and barns and walls. Where is the moral outrage?
Why do lions get the special treatment. People think that just because they like lions that it's wrong to kill them?
People have been trophy hunting for thousands of years. This is not a new thing.

Do I agree with it? No. I think its stupid. Not because I like lions but because it takes the fun out of hunting. What makes me mad is that the second someone makes a tumblr post about how some shitbird went and shot a lion. Suddenly its a war crime.
