well, that's one way to put it.
Let's say you've got 1 month old child.
You can't provide it with anything normal, you are broke and got many other problems.
Is it ok to kill it?

That 1 month old wouldn't exist if it was aborted, and therefor won't be doomed to die of lack of one of it's living necessities.

That's a false equivalency. A cluster of cells inst the same thing as a sentient being. At that point the child has its own rights

Not until at least week 8 after conception when independent brain activity begins. Until then it has nothing.

Potential is not a guarantee. You cannot know until after the foetus can survive outside the womb whether or not it will miscarry, and until after 8 weeks you cannot consider it an independent being. It is an uncontrolled cell growth until that stage, and if it is undesired that makes it a malignant tumor. Given the intense pain of childbirth, and associated issues with carrying a child, it's hard to argue that there is much of any benefit for the parent (and later for the child) in forcing someone to give birth to a child they don't want. It can be considered torture to force that upon the woman, and for the child it can lead to stunted emotional development in the future.

I had a wank earlier - those sperms could potentially become human beings. Guess I'm the next hitler.

Two ethicists made an argument for after-birth abortion. I'm going ahead and sending the snopes version of the article which says that they didn't mean it seriously. The Left uses a tactic called the motte and bailey doctrine. Essentially, they push an argument officially that is fairly moderate, but they have their radicals push what they truly believe, then when people get upset at what the radicals say (which is what they truly believe) they can claim they don't truly believe it. You can look at what Dan Savage wrote over his career. How he at first advocated for gay marriage because he believed that he and his partner had every right to be in a loving monogamous relationship, to now stating that not only is monogamy unrealistic, but that he and his partner have an open marriage. There is an inherent desire to destroy from the Left. The Right seeks to conserve, albeit through draconian tactics, but they at least value something. www.snopes.com/after-birth-abortion/

all humans are cluster of cells.
Child right before being born and the second it was taken out is pretty much the same.
but one has rights, the other does not.

Mate you're grasping at straws with that argument. If i women is one month pregnant that's taking responsibility like MuahahaOfLore said, if the child was one month old and we used your wet paper towel of an excuse and say you cannot provide for them anymore then you put the child up for adoption of find them a new home, don't put the kid down like Lassy you spastic.

Yes they're both living and have life within them but to stop these weak ass excuses people instated a law preventing people from having abortions beyond a certain date, but going by your logic every time a bloke wanks he's murdering millions of children.

Which is why you can't abort a child right before it is born. It has sentience. You very conveniently seemed to ignore that bit
User avatar
#59 - autumnanubis (02/01/2016) [-]
And by how do you measure or not it has sentience as you are unable to interact with it?
User avatar
#68 - belikea (02/02/2016) [-]
Oh, wow. I'm not even going to bother replying to that. Because, clearly, since I personally can't examine a zygote, all of known medical science on the subjec of cells and development must be wrong

It isn't a legitimate question, it's exemplifying a principle.

It has been estimated that the first traces of sentinence form after 3 or 4 months (Inside the womb).

Read it months ago, maybe google can help.
User avatar
#72 - belikea (02/02/2016) [-]
And what principle would that be?
User avatar
#122 - autumnanubis (02/02/2016) [-]
That we really aren't sure when a baby is sentient.
Besides that you're preventing a baby from forming, so yeah, you're killing it. When people try to justify abortion by saying you aren't killing a creature are idiots. You're still killing it, whatever you want to call it.
User avatar
#263 - belikea (02/02/2016) [-]
No one is saying you aren't killing something. Everyone is saying you aren't killing a humani being, any more than shedding skin cells or even losing an arm would qualify as killing yourself. As for consciousness, brain waves and "conscious" activity are found around 6 or 5 months...aka the third trimester
#246 - anon (02/02/2016) [-]
Yes, you're killing it. But you're killing a bundle of cells with no thought.

For fuck's sake, sperm are not people, but they have just as much "potential" as a zygote.
