Mass shooting is when 2 or more people are shot.
Most of our are in heavy gun controlled cities. . .
We have less mass death incidents than most developed countries if we take out our 2 worst cities.
Also 4/5 of our past well known ones were preventable if the FBI wanted too.

It's a joke not a dick no need take it so hard my good dude.
And as you said it is a small issue. Same with the jack asses trying to censor free speech in Britain. Even now people and politicians are up in arms about the affair.

Its a sad affair when you can't elect anyone that conforms to the majority view.

Unfortunately it did. And now Britain has no trade partners. A government eager to see it's people replaced with Muslims, the NHS privatized, raise the retirement age until people work until they die, and keep Scotland on a chain until they have drained the oil dry.

Unlikely as Trump said very clearly that he would increase tax so that more products were produced in America. So the only people that would benefit from that would be America. Britain needs the EU for trade and prices. That and we needed legal migrants. Doctors nurses we don't have enough in our own country due to crap wages. And relied on migrants to do those jobs. Illegals can get tae fuck but the hard working migrants without them we are under staffed. And in serious trouble.

Brexit seemed to be mostly about controlling its own laws and borders.
The speech issue is because you guys are going by the EU handbook.
It would be great if the EU was not petty and change trade policies based on the British people wanting control over their own laws.

And controlling our own land would be great. If west minster wasn't whoring it out to other countries that are decimating our fish and ecosystem. And worse they get charged pennies whilst our guys lose an arm and a leg trying to make a living fishing. And most of the rules in the EU were written by Britain.
The reason our government wanted out is because they no longer have to appeal to rules regarding fair pay, overtime, parental leave and care. Hell even drinking water and benefits are standard EU rules.
And so far all our government has really done is bitch about wanting fox hunting brought back and trying to import several million more migrants.
Trust me the EU was a shower of cunts. But at the very least they stopped our shower of cunts from being overly cunty.

#88
-
divinedrgn
(04/03/2018)
[-]
Well for one do you really think security is the priority in a totalitarian state or is it control?
Men should have the right to think for themselves, protect themselves, and live their lives without being told exactly step by step what to do as if they are children.
When you give up one thing it will eventually lead to another. Where does it really end on what you are willing to give up?
>Your right to defend yourself
>Your right to speak your mind
>Your right to choose your place of work
>Your right be who you want to be without being discriminated against.
What good is your so called security if you are not free to live? or do you like the idea of living in a prison?

That's a pretty cute and idealistic view of people being individuals while it's obvious we care more about the collective.
I see some points, but it's all potatoes - no meat, and goddamn it I want to see some goddamn porkchops along with gravy on this goddamn plate, give me something more - I still don't see why an individual should be more precious than the collective.
A man should have the right to feel like he's the part of something greater than himself, he should know that he's doing whatever he does not for his own gain but for the greater good, so he knows that his own life has more meaning than a hedonistic, greedy, degenerate life of little purpose.
See? Sounds a bit fucking preachy.
#91
-
divinedrgn
(04/03/2018)
[-]
Well here is a more blunt point for you than.
When you do nothing but think of things like the "collective" you end up with things such as communist dictatorships or fascist regimes. These are two types of government which do all they can to disarm the people and put them under the sway of the government and in both cases it tends to lead to plenty of people dying.
#94
-
laominos
(04/03/2018)
[-]
It depends on what the collective is, and the argument falls flat when you compare it to other things, would crime be more of a problem in a society that's focused solely on an individual? Would it grow decadent? Would people grow more greedy and self-serving? Would overall security and the survival of the collective be endangered?
It's also fair to point out you don't have to collectivise to an extreme, or individualise everything to a point of anarchy.
#154
-
thegamepixel

Your making the assumption that society influences human nature rather than the other way around. People are greedy. Capitalism is a system with no central power so a greedy person cannot control it, they must earn what they desire and in doing so innovate for the good of society.
#188
-
laominos
(04/03/2018)
[-]
Dumb argument, people are collectivist by nature too. You live in a collective, always - either your family, your community, your town, your nation, your ethnicity, your race or even species, would you cut ties with your loved ones for 1 milion dollars or even kill one because of greed or would you suppress those urges? Would you go to war to defend your nation or desert on the first week?
#221
-
thegamepixel
(04/05/2018)
[-]
Maybe I wouldn't, but some people do for a lot less. We have deserters in war, some people kill their own family without a monetary incentive, I have family that's cut ties. No matter what, however, people will always be greedy, because if they're not, they die. If you refuse money and food as to not be greedy, you won't live and evolutionarily, your line is cut while the greedy people will populate the earth. If you're trying to say I have reason to love my collective, that's human nature too. Humans that formed a collective lived longer and had more kids throughout human history. You can still have a sense of a collective under capitalism in opposition to the communists.
Regardless, none of that has anything to do with a society focused on the collective causing less crime. In fact, if you give people mental health on an individualist basis, treating their specific issues, there will be less crime. If you give people the chance to make money rather than limiting them to their rations, they won't be forced to steal to get more, they have the option to work. If you think people wouldn't steal under communism with natural human greed, you're delusional.

Yes, yes we have immoral people that we frown upon, our collective, a society, has these measures that ostracize people that tend to act like parasites who wouldn't mind blowing up an orphanage or a maternity ward for obscene amounts of money, but we still frown upon them - people deserting are also a minority.
And again with that line of thought, if you give people health care on a collective basis, you'll end up with the exact same thing - oiling up gears in a machine, making it run more efficiently, if you let people hoard wealth, you'll end up with impowerished people scraping for whatever they can find, while the people on the top enjoy living unproductive lives.

...In a slow, unjust manner. You're providing a statistic that shows the rich will just still get richer and hoard all the wealth while most of people will wallow in their lower-middle class income, it's very unlikely that anyone will improve their living standards while it's very likely that their standards will degrade, the same issue arises with replacing low-wage workers with machines, not a single person wants to admit the flaws of late capitalism where you can't gain wealth no matter how hard you work all the while praising it for the parasitic system it is.
Volountary charity doesn't put any safeguard on the welfare of the poorest people, you'll just have to depend on the morality of other people which will ultimately lead to more poor people because no one wants to spend their own income on improving lives of another people.
#225
-

Lower-middle class today is pretty damn wealthy looking historically. I don't care what some rich guy is doing as long as I'm making more money. Besides, the rich can't hoard wealth, they have to use their money to buy things, otherwise, they're living like a poor person, so what's the difference. Every dollar they invest helps to fund everyone else's jobs.
You haven't proven what difference late-stage capitalism makes (and at any rate, that's a theory opossed to the facts against socialism).
When you have tight-nit communities, people want to help their neighbors. These are morals taught in religion and are a hallmark of conservatism. You aren't going to turn away your neighbor when he's reduced to begging on the street. If people really want to help the poor, why not donate themselves instead of pushing for government programs? Its because they don't want to be the ones helping the poor. That's why conservatives donate more on average, not counting religious donations.

my explanation is similar to daddypatriarchy's
it was only some of the guys bathrooms that didn't have doors on the stalls, "because drugs"

My middle school (ages ~10-13) was like that. A few bathrooms just didn't have doors on the stalls. At the time I thought we were just extremely poor and could not afford to replace vandalized doors. But, looking back, it was probably an attempt at making it harder for kids to smoke or do drugs in the bathroom.
Still don't know why they only did this with a few of the stalls throughout the school. I just avoided those ones.
