Yea agreed, Im just arguing that up in till that point I think Snape was morally ambiguous but once he was forced to spend more time with bad people, particularly during his formative years, that, that had played a bigger role than most people give it credit for.

Yea I get that, but he was conflicted at the time, by shunning him she effectively pushed him into the deatheaters, although unintentionally, I was arguing that he was not evil to the core but being pushed away by the one person he cared about is what forced him onto a darker path that what he wanted to be on.

True. Hard to say what he really wanted. But if you have a choice between joining a mass murderer or just being a normal person. And you go with the murderer because you don't get the girl you want. you cant be really considered good. I am making it sound lighter than it was. But you get what I mean.

It wasnt in till he was bullied by James to the point where Lily stepped in and Snape lost his cool with her and called her a Mud blood that he began to really hang out with Malfoy and the other soon to be death eaters which affected his decision to Join Voldemort. He didnt want to Join Voldemort when he entered Hogwarts, just after he was forced to only hang around with people like Malfoy after Lily shunned him for calling her a Mud blood did he really buy into the whole being magic made you superior thing.
#32 - MrGordon (08/04/2013) [-]
No if you remember in the books. The night after her calls her mudblood. Or even the same night. He camps outside their dormitory and waits for her. When she comes out she talks about him and his "Deatheater pals" and accuses him of wanting to join up with voldemort when he leaves. He wont deny it so she goes back inside.

Why does it make a difference..? Hell to be honest, your cells and bones heal faster the younger you are once they are developed. So really he has his whole life to make mistakes like this and it will get more painful and take longer to heal the older he gets. It's better it happens at a young age than years down the road when it becomes more of a pain to heal it than it does to kick it.
