Alright. I'll bring up with my primary. Thanks for the help. Appreciate it.
What kind of tests do they do for it though? How do I make sure they don't just gloss over it?

Yeah. I don't know about half the stuff wrong with me. But I figure eventually, after years probably they'll figure something out. Until then tho, I just don't want to be in pain. Hopefully the pain center visit goes well.

I'm not sure I completely understood your instructions but I did my best with several variations. I don't experience any lightheadedness or falling over. It's very unpleasant however. the pain in my stomach is definitely affected and it makes me feel quite the nausea. I ate food a couple hours ago so I can't say for sure, but if it means anything after following your instructions my head kind of hurts. The viens are thumbing a little hard than usual in my forehead.

Uh. It's hard to say. doing again it makes me: 1) a little light headed 2) my abdomen hurt and 3) that sensation I told you about except I feel it in my whole abdomen. Radiating maybe. Also nausea.

But Idk if that's just from exerting and stretching like that.

Well here's what I know. Might as well since you took the time to respond. Give me a minute.

As for my abdomen, yes, I have serious digestive problems. First of all I experience nasua, indigestion, and something similar to constipation in the fact it's hard for me to pass stools. This doesn't make sense for several reasons. First of because of my polyuria I have to drink lots of water (if I don't drink water I still have to pee and it quickly becomes acidic so its not because I drink too much water). So you would think the water would help digestion and keep my stools from being so, well, hard to pass. But it doesn't. I was already treated for H pylori and it did little more than clear out some heart burn. My stomach and digestive system still have trouble and have always had trouble and I doubt h pylori explains all that anyway.

I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't take caffeine. Why? First because any time I eat food or take any sort of drug my stomach hurts. Like bad. And I'm nasuas. I don't drink cofee because it's makes my heart beat so fast and my abdomen hurt and I feel so worn out. Same with most drugs. I'm very sensitive. I don't know if this has to do with my metabolism. I'm allergic to motrin.

As for injury. Well the answer is sort off. I was electrocuted several times as a kid. (not too severe, mostly because of power transformers for american products I had to use in Germany). I've hit my head on 3 occasions. Once on a bed side, once by walking backwards into a light post, and once when I tried to flip upside down off a swing and blew my air out. Once I feel down the stairs and landed on my tail bone and couldn't move for five minutes. I thought I was paralyzed. Anyhow I don't any of that matters, more small injuries over the years.

I was told I have possible constriction of one of my aortic veins around my intestine or something and that might explain my trouble eating and nasua. CONT in next reply
User avatar #161 - infinitereaper (12/24/2014) [-]
Anyways as for the sensation, it's sort of like, behind my intestines closer to my spine, in the area around my bellybutton and it goes upward to the middle of my chest maybe, like where my heart is located. The sensation is exactly that of the gabapentin er... "Body high". It's a very dirty sensation that isn't entirely pleasurable but is almost pleasant and isn't pain. It's persisted since I quit Gabapentin. Though my pain is pretty much the same.

No difficulty swallowing. No idea if stroke or heart attack. No heavy lifting.

I can tell you this. Sometimes I experience what appear to be heart palpitations. I have cold hands. Also, sometimes, (this one is hard to explain) my blood kind of rushes through particular viens. Kind of like water moving through a cloggy pipe. If it's near the surface of my skin I see the vein twitch. I don't know how to explain this. Spasms? Super small ones?

My mothers sister has Fibromlyiagia, and my mother has the same polyuria I do.
Anyhow, sorry for the wall of text, this is all I'll write for now.

Right, if their is someone in your house currently, (as you might fall over if my hunch is correct) stand up, make sure you have a carpet or something arround incase you collapse. Stand with a wide stance, with your arms outstretch in a similar position to divinchis man. (that nifty drawing diagram). Do the followering

rotate your head in a circular motion, nods left right, up down. Arch your back, as much as you can, reach down and touch your toes. If you get shocks of pain during this in areas immediately stop, but take note of it. (this includes tingling feelings such as numbness).

I'm not actively a pain in the ass. I simply state the problems and look for answers, but after a few tests I'm basically turned away. They give up. I'm fucked despite my suffering. Few doctors actually care about what I have to say. It's very upsetting, and very disheartening. That's why I'm pretty much without hope. I'll try to get pain meds for now and if that doesn't work I'll try illicit drugs. Maybe weed. To make life a little more tolerable.

But please stop trying to play the hero. You've got no fucking idea what it's like to be in my position. Totally and utterly fucked. Because the people who are supposed to be able to help me don't have the time or patience to deal with my health.

I'm so utterly upset about it that I have little faith in modern healthcare anymore. For more reasons than one. I'm tired of being tired and tired of being sick and tired of being in pain. Tired of being turned away and tired of not having any real answers.

I want to be an economist and have my own company one day. If I can, I'll try to revolutionize healthcare through scientific progress. That's the only real answer. If I had the brains for science, I'd fucking solve these problems myself. Crushed by my health or not. Can barely fucking think straight as it is.

Hey actually maybe there is something you can help me with. Gabapentin. Do you know much about it or the long term effects? I took it as a shitty excuse to treat my chronic pain of nearly a decade and ended up quitting cold turkey because it just got too harsh.

Ever since I quit cold turkey I feel a strange twinge in my abdonmon, like a single nerve running straight through, and instead of pain in that string (for lack of better explanation) I feel like... not exactly pleasure, but not exactly pain. It sorts of feels like I'm on gabapentin in that strand. Obviously I'm still 99% in pain, but I was wondering if the plasticity of the CNS had anything to do with it, or the cold turkey which could have given me a seizure on the account of my neurons speeding up.

I'm hopoing for transdermal patches, to hopefully reverse some of the damage being ill and in pain my entire life has done. Some studies seem to show that treatement of pain does help regain lost gray matter and calm the sensory region of the brain under stress because of pain as well as somewhat help the central nervous system.

Although it's the sooner the better and... well, I've been ill for a very long time. It can't hurt right though? (literally). I really think the pain needs to get treated for now, I'm still trying to diagnosed (even though it's practically hopeless).

I have a visit to the pain clinic in the beginning of next year but am not sure how to approach it. Any advice?
#152 - Metric (12/24/2014) [-]
(sorry I missed this, back to case)
Pretty standard fare actually, use it as a first line treatment for generalized pain. Acts mostly upon the CSN for gaba sites (theoretically) but the actual mechanism is sorta… “it works most of the time, we don’t know why in full”. There’s a lot of things that could explain it, desensitizing would be my natural guess, possibly nerve death because of this (and no, that’s not as bad as you think it sounds). However what catches my interest is that you state it’s inside your abdominal area. Odd, could you give me a more accurate description as the exacted location? Is it close to the surface, (1 inch or less) or is it deeper. Does the feeling radiate from the back, or closer to the front of your torso? Does it appear in pulses, or when you move?

I’ve got a theory. Would you have happened to take a blow to the head at any point or the upper torso specifically close to the center of the chest? Hows the digestion? Any heart problems you know of, are you a drug user/coffee drinker? Do you exercise in excess of 10 hours a day, or not at all? Have you ever had a stroke heart attack, do you work in a profession that involves heavy lifting. Do you have any difficulties swallowing?

Like I said I'm not interested in excuses. I know it's not "in my head". It's chronic, physiologically, and considering the pattern of pain and how bad it's gotten, a possible nuroapathy. Since the CNS is somewhat plastic it's hard to know how mine has been affected from years of physical distress and pain. Polyuria, my entire abdomen is suspect, urgh whatever. Like I said. Business. Some things are easy to diagnose and easy to prescribe, the things that aren't?

Well you're pretty much fucked. Like you said, it's a pain the ass so they just tell me their numbers don't add up so I can fuck off and continue to suffer and be crippled by my various health problems and pain.

I'd have better luck founding my own business and funding stem cell research for some sort of cure all or gene replacement therapy.
#127 - Metric (12/24/2014) [-]
I'll put it this way, based on this statement I can pretty much gaurentee you have a pita diagnostic now. Remember this, doctors will tend to help you most if you help them help you, don't make statements like this just tell the information as you move between them and never try to make self diagnosis (even doctors on themselves know better as you become a conflicting interest). Your in pain, I know, and it's not fair for me to state this, but calm your tits.

I'll put it this way, when I did my clinical diagnosis hours, I had to adopt this mentality due to how much I had to do; triage. Basically if your easy to deal with, I deal with you, if not, I let you be someone else's problem. (and I mean EASY to deal with, not easy to diagnose). Remember doctors, pyschologists, ext are people.

what happens occassional, about one in 20 people was just such a pain in the ass to deal with, we'd pass them through all the staff and they would become this type of things.

"are they dying" -> no? -> not my problem... And once all the staff adopt this mentality getting help for actual problems becomes incredibly hard.

I can help 20 others in the same time as I could deal with this person. This information is passed openly between the staff, and we talk about patients. For example I actually diagnoses someone with migraine without aura in one case (very rare, you get all the symptoms of a migrain, but minus a headache) caused by the fact they had pikarism, (chewed on straws, pen lids, ext)... and caused a compression of the Trigeminal nerve. All the person would of needed was to take asprin, and stop chewing on shit. Their problem was losing vision, dizziness, and about a million other things. But dealing with them was such a pain in the ass, that it took another 2-3 years before another specialist noticed this based on the same observation I made, because I just couldn't STAND dealing with the person.
