no, that's wrong. when you "feel" lightwaves in your eyes, you don't acknowledge them. you acknowledge the object that reflected them. and that object can be miles away. it's the same with your ears. you get the information there, but you are experiencing something that occurred far away. that's the point of senses, they gather information from your surroundings, and the brain decides how to react accordingly. the touch takes information from stuff that is close to the body, but that is not the only important information.

Just as the back of your head ceases to exist until you either feel it or use a mirror, and then ceases again after you look away.
