This just ruined so much of everything

Only way Amon could really come back:

Amon was revealed to be Tarlock's brother in the finale, and when they were on the boat, it seemed as if Amon had finally come at peace with himself, for he was with the one person he trusted: his brother. However, his brother betrayed him by blowing up their boat.

Earlier in the episode, it appeared as if Amon had fire bended to get through the flame Korra set up. By showing him fire bend, the only thing I could really conclude from that is that he has similar powers like the Avatar because his father had become in direct contact with the avatar's energy, and it could have been spread down through Amon's birth.

If Amon is actually a firebender, then he actually had a chance of survival when Tarlock blew them up, because he could have diverted the explosion.

If this actually happened, he could come back in season two as a character who was even more evil, thanks to the fact that Tarlock, the only person who he had trusted, ruined the chance of Amon ever becoming at-peace with himself and starting a new beginning. Plus, now the whole bacon-face scar could actually happen, and he could make another resistance of the avatar, saying she was the one who corrupted his brother causing him to suicide and attempt to kill Amon.

None of that will likely happen, but none the less, that's a way the writers could re-incorporate Amon back into the series. The only problem with that is, nobody in republic city would trust him after he had completely lied to them all about being maimed by a fire bender.

Also, after reading my last comment I left on your profile, I realized something. I'm getting a bit obsessive over the whole avatar series, but I don't really give a **** because I genuinely enjoy it. After that, I was able to truly understand how/why you and much of funny junk enjoys the show My Little Pony so much. I guess some shows just click and bring a certain sense of enjoyment that can't really be broken away. My bad for raging on you for being a brony all of those times, man.

Alright, an anonymous poster in a bendingtime post blew my ******* mind with his assessment of what will happen with Amon:
If he actually manages to take away her bending, and she doesn't go all glory-avatar state, then she might still be able to only learn air bending, and continue with it through there.

Another theory another user had: From the episode where Aang traveled to one of the air temples and visited a monk, he was told that the Chakra located in the head is one where your spirit (energy?) can be blocked by illusion.. Basically saying any of the times Amon has "taken away" someone's bending, it's actually just an illusion that nobody has been able to notice yet. (That's what the user said.. and this is what I think will happen) So if Korra is visited by the giant Lion Turtle, speaks to a Guru like Aang did, or even finally communicates with Aang, then she will be able to realize this and reveal Amons tactics as fraud.

Another Possibility: Asami, who is very jealous of Korra and Mako, decides to join her father and ends up betraying "Team Avatar" and turns Korra over to Amon
(I just figured that would happen after watching episode 10.. I haven't seen anyone else think of this)
Last theory, which is not as thrilling but still could happen based on the trailer for the final episode: Right before Amon takes Korra's bending like he's lined up to do, she goes to the Avatar State and just kicks everyone's ass.


On a side note.. I just watched episode 10 a few minutes ago, and my reaction to General Iroh was the same as the foaming mouth guy on Kyoshi Island when he saw the avatar.
