Well, first off it's an extremely personal religion. Not like "OH EM GODDESS IT'S PURSUNALL!@1!2!!!" but more your-own-path kind of deal. You have two major types, Gardenian and Alexandrian. Gardenian was the "first" as we know it. It's based on druid and celtic mythology and customs. Alexandrian branched from it (due to differing views on covens, I think). Then there's Eclectic, which is becoming more popular. There you have centralised beliefs but with heavy influences from other cultures. Native American, Greek, that sort of thing. It's basically the belief in a God and Goddess who are the energy in everything and that the energy can be manipulated with Magick. It's honestly too detailed to sum up in two pages :-/.
Personally, I'm an Eclectic. I worship (for lack of a better term) Athena. To me, there is one energy in all things: life. That energy, through time, has been given different names. Jesus, YHWH, Allah, Goddess, Athena, Diana (Dianic Wicca is very feminist Wicca) and what not. I worship Athena because She represents the attributes I feel most connected to and adore most. I also feel connected to Hestia, goddess of the Hearth. Brigid is the Celtic version.
We also all believe in the Wiccan Rede, most strongly in the ending: "And these eight words of the rede fulfill--If ye harm none, do what ye will."

Because they're only representations of different attributes of the energy. Athena represents Wisdom and logic (along with weaving and flutes) and Hestia represents the hearth. They're just names/dieties that represent certain things about life, or the energy that is life. So, Athena. Greek Goddess. Her Roman equilvalent is Diana, and Catholic is (I think) Joan of Arc. They all represent Wisdom and logic in war.

I have a knee injury that inhibits my ability to run or walk for long distances or times (I can walk faster/longer than running), and I can't do physical therapy because insurance doesn't cover it (OR, my parents are lazy asses, which is probable) and my doctor says the only exercise I should really do is swimming with a focus on upper-body for control. That's where self-esteem comes in. I'm mortified to have my shirt off. I'm not even THAT overweight, but I'm gay, and the goddamn fucking gay community is so fucking superficial. SERIOUSLY. That's why I love lesbians--they don't care if my body isn't perfect. I just need a lesbian with a PENIS.
