Me first time playing
Yea, League is definitely a hell of a lot more new-player friendly. But, with the immensity of item actives there's pretty much no situation you can't dig yourself out of if you go about it correctly, and as you said there's a much higher skillcap, especially with heroes like Invoker, Pudge, Mirana, and Meepo. Invoker and Meepo especially in terms of buttons to press.
You get a lot more use to farming, though, as you play more. The jungle is usually reserved for a small number of heroes, with some being extremely vulnerable while farming in the jungle at the start. Though, most carries once they get Lifesteal or regen can jungle fairly easily.
And there I was, as a total newbie to Dota 2, trying to play Mirana. She was the hero I played the most, but I was always shit. Thankfully, I stuck to bot matches. That being said, I'm going to download Dota 2 and give it another shot. It's a cool game.
Actually, in bot matches, the bots can actually know exactly where skillshots are going. Pudge Hooks, Mirana Arrows, Kunkka Torrents, Invoker Sunstrikes, all of them they would dodge, and it gets worse at higher bot levels. Not to mention, according to the dota 2 reddit, bot Kunkka would famously move his torrents so they'd hit.
Bots are broken for any skillshot hero.
Oh, so that's why I could never land an arrow. Well, who'd you recommend for someone still learning the ropes?
Despite having 11 hours into the game.
When learning to play avoid invis heroes like Clinkz, Bounty Hunter, and Riki because you don't learn game sense playing them cause you're always invisible.
I would recommend playing supports first. Witch Doctor, Warlock, Lina, Crystal Maiden, and Lion are all good starts.

Been to the north korean server recently? They're a bunch of noobs who think they can pwn everyone with gear back from the 1.9.55 patch, and are always challenging everyone to duels. Best thing is just to leave them alone though. They suck so much at agriculture most of the servers players are starving.
