In reality it was Goebbels and company that were responsible for the majority of Nazi Germany's successes in the onset of WWII. I remember reading up that the military leaders attempted to dissuade Hitler from pursuing Russia until they could recoup. He was also responsible for calling off the attack that would have grounded the RAF.
#275 - clevernameguy (04/18/2013) [-]
Yeah, Hitler used many of the same strategies used by Napoleon when he invaded Russia. Napoleon lost. Bad.

Hitler also scrapped a project that would've produced the first jet-plane.

thank god
#320 - gojiraman (04/19/2013) [-]
They did make the first jet plane. Me262. But because Hitler didn't fund the production enough, it was able in too small numbers too late.

the whole point of the 2nd amendment isn't to go hunting or to shoot at a range, it's so you can defend yourself from criminals and a tyrannical government. How can i defend myself if i can't have a fully auto, but Obama's soldier's can ? He has the power, and the army can kill us like livestock. The whole reason we have this right to bare arms is so we can have equal fire arm technology as the state. That's why anyone was allowed to own a musket back then, the soldier's used them and so did everyone else
#8 - bobbysnobby (04/19/2013) [-]
If you think that a militia could stand up to the united states armed forces you have an absurdly warped world view. The fact that any small group of people would be completely obliterated by professional soldiers (something that wasnt common during the writing of the second amendment), and any large group that would constitute any real threat could be taken out by long range rockets/missiles or other form of distant artillery style munitions. Between air navel and ground supremacy the fact that they are professional and generations have spent time adapting to modern warfare and they are better equipped than any private militia could possibly be, would render violent uprising basically a null threat.

I believe you said something about it before, The Geneva Convention? I am not sure if it pertains to N. Certain attrocities of war are too gruesome for the soccer moms at home to bear so we just kinda avoid them. Urban warfare is ideal if YOUR side knows the terrain, sure you could get a nail down around a fire base but occupation and deweaopnization is where we are headed.

Which would still leave the US as war criminals, subject to economic sanctions, as well as the fact that the NK probably wouldn't take prisoners or treat any of out nationals in their nation pretty decently.

Seriously, learn global politics before you start talking about how we should run a war.

I don't think that is necessary. Urban warfare leaves little room for guerrilla tactics. Although there IS a good amount of people that could be goaded into rebelling against the regime, so is the job of a Navy Seal to convince and train them, but is it really worth risking such an asset over what will be such a short war if one at all?
User avatar #98 - LocoJoe (04/16/2013) [-]
How is urban warfare bad for guerrilla warfare? It's perfect.

Small tight alleys are great for ambushing. Roads confine vehicles to predetermined routes that can be laden with IEDs. You want to control a city block? You have to clear each and every building. Each building can be just booby trapped making it into a death box.
User avatar #114 - slenderwolf (04/16/2013) [-]

Here's the problem, if we say fuck the Geneva Convention, then we are war criminals, plus then the other side isn't bound by those rules either, so yeah, try again.

That's why you just brutally decimate the enemy quickly. Blitzkrieg + Operation Rolling Thunder + Iraq Shock and Awe all combined.
