i dont like much british comedy, being an american i also hate american comedy,
and everyone else
I prefer it just because the humor actually needs a slight bit of thought and is more intelligent than our humor here, at least in my experience anyway.
I enjoy British humour, I love Inbetweeners a lot, but I hardly ever watch TV comedies, although when I was little I'd watch nothing but English TV, pretty much anything with John Cleese I'd watch it, everything Monty Python, Fawlty Towers was my favourite show. And my second favourite (next to Brian Regan) comedian has always been Eddie Izzard, I've always admired him. What do you think of American humour? Like right now all I can think of is Parks & Rec.
I get it, and I think it's hilarious.
we love british humor, and even when we dont get the joke (political reference) we still laugh because it just sounds funny. there are good american shows, but never many good funny ones.
They sure as hell can't make anything better/similar to our british comedies.
Mad skills with a mouse
Well that's debatable, it's all preference, really.
I'm not judging
, just their comedies.
It's unfortunate that we get them over here in UK too on E4.
They're all the same; Some young people, living in apartments, going out and having sex with anyone and everyone, obsessed with shopping or partying or drinking and basically giving the Human Race a bad name.
Appealing to the lowest common denominator, in other words, doing something that everyone will laugh at. Absolute Stupidity.
"Don't Trust the B---- in apartment 23" is one. I haven't and don't want to watch it, but just from the advert, I can tell that it's a terrible show.
To me, Americans, most of them, can't make good comedies like Only Fools and Horses and I honestly don't think they ever will.
Pic by me and unrelated
Okay, no, first off 23 was actually a good show in my opinion. Although it does seem like generic shit. Secondly that's not at all what they're like. You're just talking about shitty Fall NBC line-ups. And Fox. America has had great comedies. So has Britain, again, all preference and opinion.
Care to name a few of their "Great" comedies?

can't speak for everyone, but i fucking love this show
it's funny, just in a different way. i have to be in a certain mindset for all different types of comedy.
I enjoy many British shows. and lucky for me, netfix has a few British shows to choose from. I wish they would add the UK "whose line is it anyway?" though.
I think for the most part we do, they go through a lot of the same shit American teens do so it's funny to see.
On another note, there is a disgusting wad of excrement MTV makes here in America based off of the UK version, but it''s rarely mentioned.
I enjoy British humour quite a bit. I guess it's the content that attracts me. It's very dry and often makes use of heavy irony or sarcasm or even wordplay, as opposed to the American brand of humour, which relies on delivery a lot more (which isn't to say that it's worse.) I could very easily be talking out of my hairy musical arse here, but that's just what I've noticed in my preferences.
I can't speak for all of America, but I can say I enjoyed it.
- Nah, you're alright, Charlie. You seem a cool cat. Take my thumbs
- That damn mould!
I don't even know how that happened... I meant to type mother. You may fire at will.
