I don't bite my fingers: I count them. In dreams, I almost never have the correct number of fingers.

Once counting your fingers becomes a habit you can start lucid dreaming. It's really fun. Sometimes scary too. I accidentally jumped too high and ended up in space, flew past the moon, and was only saved when I lassoed my fence and pulled myself back into my bathroom where I proceeded to try and kill the goo monster in the shower. I was amazingly successful, and went on with my lucid dream.

I was aware it was a dream, and I was able to steer the dream around a little, but for the most part I was rather unsuccessful at the lucid dream, but it still counted I believe. ^^

Perhaps you have a misconception of what lucid dreaming is actually about? In that particular instance the dream got out of my control, but I've had others where I had much more "power" over my dream world. ^^
