| Ever consider going hydrostatic? With a variable displacement pump and motor, you get a torque converter, and get an infinite range of speeds and power levels. To put it in reverse, simply shift pump or motor displacement over center. You could still hook it up to a gearbox, and still get good performance. It has a bad lag to it, but once it gets up there I pass most things since i just stay at 6k until I let off. But your manual CVT idea sounds awesome. | ||

| I would love to drive a manual CVT. No such thing exists, but imagine it: The shifter would be a lever (mechanically linked to the CVT mechanism) that you can move over a seamless continuous range from low gear to overdrive. Maybe have a second stick for forward-neutral-reverse, the clutch would only be used when going in and out of gear. It would be a completely different kind of driving. Might be good for racing. I really want to build one of these just to see what it would be like. I'd imagine that you would use the engine as usual for small adjustments in speed, but if you really wanted to accelerate you'd slam on the gas and hold the engine close to redline while moving the shifter toward higher gear. I don't know, just something I started thinking about when I first heard of a CVT. I've never driven one, what is it like? Ever consider going hydrostatic? originalanonymous (21 hours ago) [-] I'll explain it. First of all it was a nun, but now for the joke. A nun, badly needing to use the restroom, walked into a local Hooters restaurant. The place was hopping with music and loud conversation and every once in a while the lights would turn off. Each time the lights would go out, the place would erupt into cheers. However, when the revelers saw the nun, the room went dead silent. She walked up to the bartender, and asked, "May I please use the restroom?" The bartender replied, "OK, but I should warn you that there is a statue of a naked man in there wearing only a fig leaf." "Well, in that case, I'll just look the other way," said the nun. So, the bartender showed the nun to the back of the restaurant. After a few minutes, she came back out, and the whole place stopped just long enough to give the nun a loud round of applause. She went to the bartender and said, "Sir, I don't understand. Why did they applaud for me just because I went to the restroom?" "Well, now they know you're one of us," said the bartender. "Would you like a drink?" "But, I still don't understand," said the puzzled nun. "You see," laughed the bartender, "every time someone lifts the fig leaf on the statue, the lights go out. | ||

| Assuming you go to a public US high school, they actually really can't afford the ink for the printers because hardly any US high schools are actually funded properly. Not to mention that greedy superintendents take a shitload for their salary and give none to the schools (my high school's super make $220,000 a year and some of our hallways didn't have ceilings) Though they were being humongous dicks by not letting ANY students print on their printers #146 -

N. Korean citizen (17 hours ago) [-] in high schools, the teachers have to pay for the ink out of their own salary. That's a weird coincidence, since, earlier in the year, for no reason, I would go to the library, print out multiple picture of Bill Cosby, and tape them around the school, (ASB didn't like that) it was super funny just hearing people talk about how they can't turn a corner without seeing Bill Cosby and knowing that I am the one that caused it all. Also, people would try to take credit for them, but enough people saw me doing it to tell them to stop lying, which is awesome because people frequently take credit for random shit that I or my friends begin. #107 -
proxyfag (20 hours ago) [-] At my school all the computers are connected to a single network, along with the printers. I made a gmail account and registered all the printers to google's cloud print. Then during class i would use my iphone's cloud app and begin printing a bunch of nicholas cage pictures to all the printers in the school. They still never found whos doing it. #102 -
proxyfag (20 hours ago) [-] I remember this one time at my school when we used an IP hack and remotely shutdown every computer in the school, including the servers.... that was epic! What's funny is someone else executed the virus, we had it on a public unit and renamed it 'The Awesome Game' and some retard clicked it lol! They tried to shoobidy bop, but they didn't have the zippity zop gumbo flaps. | ||

You sir, are fucking awesome. it's only on here that I find people with similar interests as me, but sadly I don't know much about the lambda itself, all I know is that it's used in math, and I think it's from the Greek (I don't really know for sure).
sorry to ask, but why is your name blue? may have missed a PM or something
