There are poor whites too all over the place. Race has nothing to do with it and the fact that people use this as an excuse for their problems is ridiculous. Every race in America faces its forms of racism, yes, but White privilege definitely still exists - there is still a white majority in colleges, in higher earning jobs, so on. This is because of opportunity presented to them not because minorities dont try hard enough also the million march was at a time when minorities were segregated and didnt have rights - to compare that to something now is silly - white people have their rights and have had them for a long long time. really though when it comes down to it - people should just go to youtube and look up the song "everyone's a little bit racist" from Avenue Q, laugh a bit, and move on. Things are getting better. #1179

Asians and whites are told good education means good jobs mean success Hispanics are told that they need a job. So when there raised they think they only need just a job to be success-full in life. I cant say anything for blacks because its a fusion between hispanics and Whites. | ||

Personally, I think the whole issue is just annoying. Black History Month and Female History Month are more of a compensation than an actual acknowledgment. "Oh, sorry, did I enslave thousands of people like you/treat half the population of the world like property for hundreds of years? Here, have a month." I know we need things like affirmative action, but it would be a lot better not to need it, so things could be decided on actual merit, rather than the fact that having you makes you look diverse. Also, insulting me doesn't make my arguments any less valid. | ||
