you say you've seen things women can do the men can't. is this in the job community? or just in general(such as child birth)?
User avatar #65 - Kamesakke (04/04/2014) [-]
Well, mind you, most of these things are subjective and circumstantial. When I went to costco some time ago, there was a rather skrawny man working, and this rather fit/athletic/built woman was just down the isle. The man had trouble lifting a crate that was too small for a forklift to be useful. This woman offered her support and lifted it to where it needed to go. I figured, gender roles were irrelevant.

"Treat them equal" is to treat them unfairly"

>Push a baby out of your urethra, man<

But men do not have baby making facilities, don't you think that it is unfair to hold them to a standard that they cannot physically meet?

I mean clearly it's wrong to do that to women in the workplace according to you, but you seem to have no problem upholding an impossible barrier to equality when it comes to autonomy.

Is what you propose truly "fair" when your logic and fairness only goes one direction?

Well, seeing as I've been around FJ for a while, I've come to see that the best and most responded to comments often have a joke in there. The "Push a baby out of your urethra, man" was meant as a joke, but as you can see, I am not good at writing jokes on the fly. When it comes down to it, we all know what it basically right and wrong, so long as we're not sociopathic. As long as we treat people with respect, and allow ourselves to rebel against our own ego and say, "I don't feel I should have a say in this, as it is not something that would directly affect me." or "I don't feel that it is right for me to have a say over a woman's body if they can not have a say over a man's body."

> so to really say, "Treat them equal" is to treat them unfairly.<

Would this apply to jobs as well? If a woman cannot accomplish the same thing physically as a man, should they be paid the same amount?

User avatar #43 - Kamesakke (04/04/2014) [-]
You can't just "one-size-fits-all" all arguments. I say, equal work, equal pay. I've seen women do things some men can't. When it comes to the work environment, I say "fairness BASED on equality." Equality is having tampon dispensers in both male and female bathrooms. Fairness (and common sense I may add.) is just keeping the tampon dispensers in the female restroom. Does this analogy make sense to you?

"if it's not CGI"
Really man?
Do you think horses have no blood or something?
The ear twitches at the end, and its dick vanishes in what really looks like god-awful photoshop.
#100 - waffledinner (04/04/2014) [-]
If the pieces of glass or whatever it is that is coming down on the horse fall with enough force, no blood would escape from the body if there were a lot of pressure between the slats. and the dick doesn't disappear it is just obscured by the glass.

Also, its from an oldish movie with Jennifer Lopez called The Cell
User avatar #88 - Kamesakke (04/04/2014) [-]
Depending on what the material is, the blood could have been suctioned into place as there was no direct air-flow. I know, It's pretty obvious, but I live my life with, "You never know" constantly in mind.

I know what you mean. But I think this is mostly for passive entertainment. And there's a wide margin for non pc jokes, which i think people enjoy. If you think about it, it's actually a pretty unique and tight knit community for what it is. And I think if you make the right types of replies to the right types of comments, you'll find that people will actually let you into darker parts of their lives

The problem is almost everyone comes here to be entertained, not to be intellectual. Have you tried the boards? People there might be more into conversation, but I don't use them so I wouldn't be able to tell you
User avatar #484 - Kamesakke (03/10/2014) [-]
I appreciate the advise to go seek conversation within boards. I don't see the difference, honestly. To me, working my brain and discussing topics is fun. It challenges me, and it helps me broaden my world view one perspective at a time.

Are you suggesting that churches don't have representation in Congress? Because that would be the opposite of correct
User avatar #86 - Kamesakke (02/28/2014) [-]
Sure, about %98 of legislatures claim to be Christians and claim to do things based on "Christian Values", however, most of the time, they're just self-serving bastards who say anything to gain influence.
