They don't play less matches, they play the same amount of total games that are shorter. However, playing shorter matches allows the women to play both doubles and singles (Williams sisters for example). Men are allowed to enter both, but realistically they can't suceed deep into either draw as the physical toll will be to immense.

The thing is wrong essentially. They either play shorter matches for the same money, or are presented with an oppurtunity to win more money that the good males aren't.
